Guess What?
Mr. Toast's gifts are known for their lovely British goodies
and extra special touches since he customizes each box
to fit the recipient! Aww...I love that!
Just look at all the goodies that came this week!
I finally got to taste Yorkshire Tea and those famous Digestives!
And I enjoyed them just like I was instructed...
dunking the biscuits in the tea before eating.
Yum!
Not to mention an authentic Christmas pudding, 2 beautiful
checked dish towels, a three volume journal and sketch set,
scented pear-shaped candles, and...
... a Yorkie, "It's Not For Girls" Candy Bar! Hm.
I guess he thought this chocolate-loving repo girl could
handle it? lol. And yes I could, thank you very much! This
British chocolate bar has an interesting history that deserves it's own post. I'll share the story so watch for it here in the near future!
Um...and did I mention that I love the bird?
Thanks so much, Mr. Toast! Your Christmas Tea was delightful and I feel so honored that I got to receive one of your famous prize boxes!

As I put the camera down, he took one sip and
poured the rest in the sink! lol.
Thanks for the effort anyway, Spence.

Sunrise
- Snow melts quickly,
- Providing
- Robins a look into the soggy grass.
- Irresistible temperatures
- Nudging me to open the window a crack.
- Gusts of warmth merrily tinkle the wind chime outside.
- Tempting as it feels, I'm no fool.
- Easy come - easy go, this joke from Mother Nature!
- Another snow will come.
- Spring has not begun,
- Even though the sun kissed my face today!
I'm joining Sky Watch Friday!

Happy Thoughts
- Robins. They're in my yard, eating the crab apples and looking at the snow! ha. Are they lost or are they here to proclaim that spring will be here soon? I was amused at this one in particular who wedged her large body into a tiny sparrow's nest. Kind of reminded me of the ugly step sisters wedging their big toe into Cinderella's glass slipper! lol. Not that robins are ugly, but it was just a funny sight.
- We had a whole week without snow days or delays.
- I'm working on a big project for the triplets that involves their bedroom with some fresh ideas and upgrades. More to come later in a "before-and-after" post. I'm excited and they will be thrilled! :)
- When I picked up the triplets from their special needs class at church Sunday morning, I said "Hi" to a little 13 year old girl with Down's Syndrome. She looked at me and said, "Hello, Gorgeous!" ha ha. Now that made my day! What a sweetheart she is.
- Cookie and gift basket orders just when I needed a little extra money for something special.
- I saw the bottom of the hamper twice, if only briefly!
- The smell of cinnamon-raisin bagels in the toaster.
- The NASCAR season has begun. :)
- Temperatures are 50 degrees warmer than just 7 days ago!
- Friends that text and say "want to have lunch?" :)
In a weird kind of coincidence, last week I had 3 people email me about my "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" posts. Two people said that they loved them and wanted me to post one soon. The third person said they liked these "Happy Thoughts" better because the other kind was "whiny". I didn't actually replace one with the other but had intended on doing each as a running series off and on. So what do you think? The purpose of the good/bad/ugly is to be transparent about the crazy and even bad things that happen here. Many things have to do with autism and some just have to do with the ups and downs of life in a large family. I certainly don't want to give the impression that everything is always wonderful. I like to share the craziness, see the humor in it, and invite you to laugh with me! Let me know your thoughts! If you think they are whiny and like the 'happy thoughts' better, I want to know! LOL.
And Happy Valentine's Day!
You know I love you all, right? :)

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?
- PLATO ~ For the greater good of man.
- ARISTOTLE ~ It is the nature of chickens to cross roads.
- KARL MARX ~ It was a historical inevitability.
- CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK ~ To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.
- MOSES ~ And God came down from the heavens, and he said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing.
- JERRY SEINFELD ~ Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask, "What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place, anyway?"
- FREUD ~ The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.
- BILL GATES ~ I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook.
- BUDDHA ~ Asking this question denies your own chicken nature.
- RALPH WALDO EMERSON ~ The chicken did not cross the road..it transcended it.
- ERNEST HEMINGWAY ~ To die. In the rain.
- DR. SEUSS ~ Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes! The chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I've not been told!
- GRANDPA ~ In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.
- BILL CLINTON ~ I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. However, I did ask Vernon Jordan to find the chicken a job in New York.
- COLONEL SANDERS ~ I missed one?
