Pink Ice Cream

Continuing with my love of fruit sorbets this summer,
I have to show you this one!  Not only is it amazingly
delicious, but that color!  It's gorgeous...it's pink...
and it's so girly! ha.
"Private Selection" is from Kroger....all of the
food I have bought under this label has been delicious!

Eating this reminded me
of this little poem from a book I
had when I was a little girl.

It's one of the very few things I have from my
childhood.  I loved this little book and can
still remember all the little rhymes.

Yes, pink ice cream is lickety good!

Snow Ice Cream

This is for Yuji! :)

I had snow ice cream on my Winter Fun To Do List
and forgot to post about it!  I'd never had it before
and was curious as to how it would turn out.
There are lots of recipes posted online and I picked
the easiest one.

 You whisk sweetened condensed milk
into a bowl of clean, fresh snow.  Add as much milk as
you need to get the right consistency.
My snow was the light, fluffy kind.  6 cups of snow
took about 1/3 can of the milk.

The taste was like vanilla ice cream.
The texture more like a snow cone.
I'd say this is certainly done for the novelty
of it and not the quality of the finished product.
But it was fun and I think kids would think it
was an awesome thing to do.
And it would make a very fun winter tradition!

Ginger Cookie and Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream Sandwich

So two days ago I showed you my yummy chewy ginger cookies
Then yesterday I was talking about ice cream season being
over.  But a light bulb went on that pumpkin ice cream would
be really good with those cookies!  I picked up some pumpkin
cheesecake ice cream at the grocery today!  I didn't even put the
groceries away before making this.  ha.  It was 2pm and I
called it lunch.  And yeah, it was wonderful!
I think we have a new fall tradition!

The ice cream is Kroger's Private Selection
New York Style Pumpkin Cheesecake.

Ice Cream, A Creative Tuesday Entry

please click to enlarge

Ice cream is my favorite summertime dessert, so it was really fun
to be able to sketch a yummy banana split in a brown transferware
bowl for my Creative Tuesday entry! My favorite part of eating
ice cream is the hot fudge! If you need a good recipe for hot fudge
click HERE for mine. It's thick and fudgey and perfect.

Did you know?
  1. July is National Ice Cream Month!
  2. The US produces the most ice cream in the world.
  3. Ice cream became available to the general public in France in 1660.
  4. Ice cream was introduced to the US in the 1700's but mostly enjoyed by those of status and wealth.
  5. And, vanilla still remains the most popular flavor of ice cream!

Life is like an ice-cream cone, you have to lick it one day at a time.

What's your favorite flavor?
Personally, I like them all!
But I usually choose something with chocolate and caramel in it.
