"Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath
her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings!"
Victor Hugo
Oh now, I couldn't have written that quote! Well, maybe not
as eloquently...but I love the philosophy just the same!
This little lady cardinal sits in the tree here and looks at me
as I sit at my desk. I hope she makes her nest there this
coming spring. How lovely that would be!
♥
Hm. Only about two-thirds of the image is showing up on my screen.
ReplyDeleteyeah i am missing the bird...but it would make for a nice view...
ReplyDeleteWell I got it all and folks it is lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet she is saving that spot for her nest.....won't that be great!
thanks, nanny..I was beginning to think it was me! :)
ReplyDeleteIf I click on the image, it shows up all alone and complete.
ReplyDeleteOkay, it's showing up now on the blog itsewf. I've had this little glitch now and then on my own blog, too, but it always corrects itself!
ReplyDeleteI like the way Ms. Cardinal is showcased through the beautiful window.
ReplyDeleteBesides the splendid view...even if there wasn't a bird there (of which I do see)..the window is beautiful. Now I see where you get your inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThe cardinal is telling you that you're going to get a visitor...as my mom used to say. :D
Is that your view? Wow, what a view, and what an image!;) It looks like a painting...
ReplyDeletexoxo
That quote is so inspirational. I keep forgetting my wings!!

Betsy, as ever you are my Inspirator-In-Chief.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Subs...maybe it will sweeten that ol silver fox up a little bit? :)
ReplyDeleteGreat picture and such a great quote to go with it.
ReplyDeletethat would be sweet to watch her tend her family!
ReplyDeleteI hope she nests there for you too!
ReplyDeleteI had a pair of cardinals outside my window a couple of years ago. I enjoyed watching them when teaching piano, but they never did nest there.
Stay Warm!! xoxo

Betsy,
ReplyDeleteDo you know what happened to Matty of Matty's Thoughts? He hasn't blogged since before Christmas. I've gone in several times to his blog, but nothing there. I just now since him an email. We have emailed back and forth a little.
She is so lovely. Your window looks like a painting and the bird look like she is a part of it.
ReplyDeleteThe Hugo quote is one of my favorites, too. Life is a frail branch, but we still keep singing our song.
what a little sweetie she is.....
ReplyDeletehi betsy...thanks for stopping by and wishing Teddy a happy birthday...we just love and adore him so much......
stay cozy, my friend
love,
kary and teddy
Hi Nugget
:-)
The Cardinals are SO pretty in the snow! EVEN the females are striking against all the white and gray.
ReplyDeleteDoes she fly into your window? My folks had trouble with Cardinals running in to their deck french doors! We have never had that problem.
Jill ~ they haven't flown into my nook windows around my desk but they have hit the window that the feeder/flower box is attached to. I think the reflection has to be just right to make them think it's not glass. ha.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful window and such a pretty scene! I see the birdy. Love the Hugo quote.
ReplyDelete(Quite often I have to right click in blogs to open images in an 'incognito window'.)
haha...ok subby...keep me posted.
ReplyDeleteBetsy ~ I would make my nest outside you beautiful window in a wink!
ReplyDeleteThe 4 doves have come back to our feeder..but I have to sit in the back yard to enjoy them.
ah hugo such a wordsmith!
ReplyDeletelovely photo - and what a wonderful window, i see ms. cardinal!!!!
btw, i just streamlined my blog address for the mouse, if you wish you may have to edit your blogroll to reflect the new address, as i noticed when i popped over that today's post isn't there.
i'm afraid i might have to rebuild the mouse's blogroll....oy! but am going to give it a couple days to see if maybe miracles will happen and blogger gets the info transferred!!
the new url is simply mousemedicine.com
namaste!
ok Kimy ~ I'll change it on my sidebar so I don't loose you! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the philosophy too and I hope she stays to build her nest - I feel she will.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a church lady, waiting for service to begin.
ReplyDeleteLove all your birds. And they must love you too!
I read a book about 5 years ago about Victor Hugo's daughter who suffered from mental illness and it was really interesting on the story of their family.
ReplyDeleteIs that one of your windwos? hoiw lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes, you coudl have well written that quote, Betsy. Of course, unlike the bird, if the branch bends too much you would fall with a rather distinct thud. LOL.
