Mr. Toast's gifts are known for their lovely British goodies and extra special touches since he customizes each box to fit the recipient! Aww...I love that! Just look at all the goodies that came this week! I finally got to taste Yorkshire Tea and those famous Digestives! And I enjoyed them just like I was instructed... dunking the biscuits in the tea before eating. Yum! Not to mention an authentic Christmas pudding, 2 beautiful checked dish towels, a three volume journal and sketch set, scented pear-shaped candles, and... ... a Yorkie, "It's Not For Girls" Candy Bar! Hm. I guess he thought this chocolate-loving repo girl could handle it? lol. And yes I could, thank you very much! This British chocolate bar has an interesting history that deserves it's own post. I'll share the story so watch for it here in the near future!
Um...and did I mention that I love the bird?
Thanks so much, Mr. Toast! Your Christmas Tea was delightful and I feel so honored that I got to receive one of your famous prize boxes!

Ah, you lucky girl. As for the history of British chocolate, you should read "The Chocolate Wars" by Deborah Cadbury : it is a fascinating book. I am listening to the full Audiobook version at the moment whilst I walk Amy : the only problem is that I have to keep stopping off at shops to purchase examples of each of the chocolate products described.
ReplyDeleteAlan ~ that does sound like a fascinating book to read...and it's only appropriate to sample all chocolates described! lol.
ReplyDeleteI love the bird! And what a prize, it is so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! How sweet that you got so many things you love. The candy bar wrapper is a real hoot! All of it was so 'yummy'....Blessings to you today!
