coming home from the grocery 2-8-11
Oh the wind is lashing lustily
And the trees are thrashing thrustily
And the leaves are rustling gustily
So it's rather safe to say
That it seems that it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubtedly
It looks like a rather blustery day, today
It sounds that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blusterly day today

Brrr-rrr-rr! Good day to stay inside! (Love the Sherman Brothers, by the way. Ever see "The Boys," the documentary about them? Highly recommended!)
ReplyDeletePictures from Antartica?
ReplyDelete"The Boys" around here means the triplets! lol. No, I have not seen that but will certainly look it up, Silver. And thanks for not lecturing about taking pics while driving. :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't do that.
ReplyDeleteBut wait until you see MY next post...
KIDDING! JUST KIDDING! [ducks]
Christine ~ lol! looks like it! No, just a typical winter day in good ol' Ohio. :)
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ I'll give up photography while driving if you give up smoking while driving. :) Deal?
ReplyDelete[unprintable]
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look like great driving. If you have to go out again, be safe.
ReplyDeleteminus the snow...it was very blustery here as well 30-40 mph winds...got some nice wind burn on my face...out hiking with a kid...stay warm...
ReplyDeleteBrian ~ it's 9 degrees before the windchill tonight! brrr! Sorry about the burn! ugh.
ReplyDeleteBetsy ~ you hit a nerve with this, and I'm tearing up...happy tears.
ReplyDeleteI was looking at some old journals of mine, and when my daughter Jill was in the first grade, and she turned 40 this year, This was my entry ..."Today was the best day, just Jill and me at the Mall. We had lunch and bought a Winnie the Pooh book "A Blustery Day". I called her "Saucy" she called me "Cha Cha La"...and we hugged and said this is the best day ever."
Betsy, Jill always made up name for us and we would call each other those silly names. She stilll has that book.
So ~ thanks for the memories.
Wanda ~ oh that is so sweet!...pass the tissues, dear! What a nice memory!
ReplyDeleteI always loved Poo for saying that...hang onto your hat my girl! ;D
ReplyDeleteOh...yuk...looks really horrid..pretty..but driving in snow...yuk... Love Winnie the Pooh blustery day...We went from -2 to 20 degrees yesterday afternoon...it was like a tropical heatwave...wonderful..
ReplyDeleteI'm soooooooo glad we don't have any snow here! We got some the other day but it melted quickly. We do have the chill though. Still very cold out. I hope you bundled up on your blustery day!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great day to stay inside.;))

Nobody says it like the Pooh. LOL! Stay warm and safe, Betsy!
ReplyDeleteN+My goodness, does Spring never arrive in the mid-West?
ReplyDeleteWe seem to have quite a bit of that blustery weather here, too:-)
ReplyDeleteI cracked up when I read about you getting up late and rushing around to get the triplets ready for school!! I only have one boy to get ready in the morning and I always say that every minute is accounted for and there is no time for errors! I can only imagine the rushing around you had to do to get everyone ready!
What a mess!!!!lol

ReplyDelete"Hibernation is in full swing
ReplyDeleteAs the bears in caves do sleep;
Biting winds outside
But inside not a peep...
You feel so old
As you curse the cold
Your bones are rather weary;
But so I'm told
Yet not quite sold
Anon Spring pushes out the dreary."~~T.Slater 10 Feb, 2011
