Coca-Cola Advertising at the Auction

I worked at the auctions today! We were in a big metal barn at the fairgrounds.
It was a little chilly but I bundled up so it wasn't too bad. I also drank plenty of
hot coffee, so that helped. The highlight of the day was this cute little old man, who
bid for this piece of advertising memorabilia from the 1930's.
He said he has four other signs that are similar but this one was the most unique with the bottle emblem sitting at the top of the piece. Any guesses as to what his winning bid was?
$1, 050.00
He seemed pleased when I asked if I could take his picture after he settled his bill.

Theme Thursday = Candy

I have a huge sweet tooth. And if I have to get
a sweet fix from a vending machine, my first
choice would be an Almond Joy or Mounds bar.
Did you know that they have been around since
the 1940's? I love the vintage ads! And can
you believe they were only 10 cents?
They were probably bigger back then, too!
Isn't that they way it usually goes? ha.
Kinda like a Burger King Whopper...remember
when those were so huge you could barely
pick them up? But I digress...
Remember the catchy slogan,
"Sometimes you feel like a nut...sometimes you don't"?
And look at this cute couple! I'm glad to see they didn't get their costumes confused! ;) I'll tell you right now, The Mister wouldn't be caught dead in something like this! ha.

I'd have to say that Butterfinger, and Twix would have to come in as a close 2nd and 3rd on my favorites list.

So...what's your favorite candy bar?

Things that Come in Threes!

A lot of things come in threes in our family!
The best thing, of course would be our triplets.
But not ALL threes are good!
When household things break, we can
almost always count on them coming in threes!
It has gotten to the place that when something breaks, we
cringe and wait with anticipation....and sure enough two more
things bite the dust! Last week was one of those weeks!
With the Hoover Floor Mate, Cuisinart Blender and
the good ol' Kenmore clothes dryer (17 years old) all dieing!
The blender and dryer have been replaced.
Now we're officially broke! I guess I'll have
to resort to a plain old mop and bucket! LOL
So, do you have a lucky or unlucky number
that has adopted your family???

Lipstick Rules

"Where lipstick is concerned, the important thing
is not color, but to accept God's final word
