Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

  1. PLATO ~ For the greater good of man.
  2. ARISTOTLE ~ It is the nature of chickens to cross roads.
  3. KARL MARX ~ It was a historical inevitability.
  4. CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK ~ To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.
  5. MOSES ~ And God came down from the heavens, and he said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing.
  6. JERRY SEINFELD ~ Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask, "What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place, anyway?"
  7. FREUD ~ The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.
  8. BILL GATES ~ I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook.
  9. BUDDHA ~ Asking this question denies your own chicken nature.
  10. RALPH WALDO EMERSON ~ The chicken did not cross the road..it transcended it.
  11. ERNEST HEMINGWAY ~ To die. In the rain.
  12. DR. SEUSS ~ Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes! The chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I've not been told!
  13. GRANDPA ~ In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.
  14. BILL CLINTON ~ I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. However, I did ask Vernon Jordan to find the chicken a job in New York.
  15. COLONEL SANDERS ~ I missed one?

  3. Mickie ~ I got a good laugh putting it together. It started with the photo, which I thought was hilarious. Then I had to find the quotes to go with it.

I think Hemingway's is my favorite. haha.

  9. I think we should all answer the question in the style of one of our favourite bloggers. I'll start off with Brian Millers' answer :
    "Out it strode
    To cross that road
    And like all good birds
It did it in just 320 words"

  27. Just tumbled on this fabulous post and it had me laughing my head off. Let me see what would some others might have said:

Bank Manager: To collect his bonus of course.

Mrs Bluelights: Because the grass is greener on the other side.

Sir Edmund Hilary: Because it was there!
