Last month when I planted my veggie garden it looked like this!
And here's what it looks like today!
The jalapeno was eaten by something as was replaced with a
banana pepper. The spaghetti squash was planted by seed three
times without a single sprout. I couldn't find it in seedling form
so I guess we'll just forget that one this year!
We picked our first veggie over the weekend!
A nice fat zucchini!
Yum.

With silver bells and cockle shells, and pretty maids all in a row :)
ReplyDeleteYou have tended your garden well, it's growing beautifully.
What a splendid zucchini, I bet it was delicious.

All that rain has really helped. And the days it didn't rain I've been good (so far)
Deleteabout getting out there with a hose.
The zucchini was delish....and just the right size. Not too small and not the size of the house yet. lol.
Your zucchini is taking over, too. Everything is looking good! Looks like you're going to be picking tomatoes soon. I've never tried to grow spaghetti squash. I might try it next year.
ReplyDeleteYep, the zucchini and cucumber are competing for space in that spot! haha. I have never had trouble
Deletegrowing spaghetti squash before. I even tried two different envelopes of seeds in case the first one was a dud. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
Looking good there farmer Betsy!
ReplyDeleteI put down my drill and picked up my watering can! haha.
DeleteHmmm... I wonder if whatever stole the jalapeno is hopping around with a hot tongue!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks great!
Yes, I wonder! Maybe that's why it never came back! haha.
DeleteSure did grow
ReplyDeleteHave veggies high and low
A fat one is good
Even feeding visitors in your hood
Must be all the cats
Deletestanding guard to squash predators flat.
haha.
Love your garden so nice and tighty no weeds . Awesome
ReplyDeleteHere's our trick for no weeds....about 4" of mulch. The weeds can't grow through it.
DeleteNo weeding all season...it really works!
Very nice. I'm eating fresh zucchini here, too. Tonight we had our first serving of yellow beans. :)
ReplyDeleteYum...that sounds delicious!
DeleteYou have such a pretty garden! I love the layout.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The Mister did that years ago. It's just the right size for us.
DeleteThere is nothing like fresh from the garden veggies. Yum.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of the plants do well too.
So far so good. We usually get some kind of deadly mildew that kills everything at it's peak. Fingers crossed that won't happen this year!
DeleteLooks like almost everything is really doing well. You should have a bumper crop of veggies all summer.
ReplyDeleteI hope so! So far so good but we get this icky mildew that kills everything mid summer.
DeleteUsually very disappointing right when things look so good.
Hi Betsy - how wonderful and it looks a delight ... so pleased you are enjoying and reaping the benefits of your efforts - just lovely .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteOur Alex loves cherry tomatoes so I'm excited to show him how he can pick and eat! :)

Nothing like eating from your garden, is there? So fun!
DeleteI love the design of your garden, Betsy! It's a work of art and I bet that zucchini gave you so much satisfaction. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's an Oklahoma City blogger who writes for Southern Living. Her blog is called potager ... I bet you'd like it.
Thanks, Stacey...I'll check out her blog for sure!
