Catbird

Believe it or not, I know my cats just from their meow.
Yep, all of them!  They all sound different, just like human's
voices sound different!  So when I heard a funny meow outside that
sounded kind of like a kitten but kind of not, I knew it was a catbird!
And sure enough, there he was!  I wonder what the cats thought. haha.

  1. A catbird? I have a magpie nearby who imitates cellphone rings. He fooled me for a while until I saw him doing his impersonations in a nearby tree. You would be surprised at the number of people he catches out as the pass by.

    1. Yeah...it's a weird sound. Kind of like a kitten but kind of like a baby. haha. You'd never
      guess it was a bird!

  4. Incredible on two counts . . . you being able to differentiate all your cat meows . . . and the bird doing a cat call (I mean meow) to you . . . :) Never heard a bird do that . . .

  5. I just listened to a catbird's call on YouTube. Very cool.
Aw! I think it's sweet you know all your kitties' voices. I bet they make quite the sound if several are gathered together. A Kitty Choir!

  7. Well, I just learned something new. Never hear of that before. I know Molly's bark too. Funny how unique they are.

  8. Well, you have very highly attuned ears that I'm sure served you well as your boys were growing up too. I've never heard a catbird but we had a fox once that sounded like a baby crying or a cat getting ready to fight. Sometimes things aren't what they sound like. Enjoy your day!

  13. What a pretty birdie. We had a cocker spaniel who thought he was a bird dog. She was always barking at the birds and did catch one every now and then!!
