Believe it or not, I know my cats just from their meow.
Yep, all of them! They all sound different, just like human's
voices sound different! So when I heard a funny meow outside that
sounded kind of like a kitten but kind of not, I knew it was a catbird!
And sure enough, there he was! I wonder what the cats thought. haha.
♥
A catbird? I have a magpie nearby who imitates cellphone rings. He fooled me for a while until I saw him doing his impersonations in a nearby tree. You would be surprised at the number of people he catches out as the pass by.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I've heard of mockingbirds doing that, too.
DeleteI've heard of Cowbirds but never catbirds.
ReplyDeleteI bet a lot of people get fooled.
Yeah...it's a weird sound. Kind of like a kitten but kind of like a baby. haha. You'd never
Deleteguess it was a bird!
I haven't seen or heard a catbird. I don't think!
ReplyDeleteNext time you hear a funny meow, look around! haha.
DeleteIncredible on two counts . . . you being able to differentiate all your cat meows . . . and the bird doing a cat call (I mean meow) to you . . . :) Never heard a bird do that . . .
ReplyDeleteI'm just incredible, Ed. Don't you know that by now? lol....
DeleteIt takes one to know one . . . lol
DeleteI just listened to a catbird's call on YouTube. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteAw! I think it's sweet you know all your kitties' voices. I bet they make quite the sound if several are gathered together. A Kitty Choir!
Yep, their meows are all different! Some are chirps, some are kind of whiny and Star's sound like an old lady! hahaha....
DeleteHa! Laughing at Star. Aw...
DeleteI've never heard a catbird - or even seen one. Cool!
ReplyDeleteWell, I just learned something new. Never hear of that before. I know Molly's bark too. Funny how unique they are.
ReplyDeleteWell, you have very highly attuned ears that I'm sure served you well as your boys were growing up too. I've never heard a catbird but we had a fox once that sounded like a baby crying or a cat getting ready to fight. Sometimes things aren't what they sound like. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeletewow, thats a cool bird!!!
ReplyDeletehaha trying to mix in
ReplyDeleteSo he can survive your bin
All have a different meow indeed
Some weirder than others take seed
Gosh - I've never heard of such a bird ... how interesting ... fascinating and clever you ... cat calls - good for you .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteProbably "Who's stealing my act?"
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty birdie. We had a cocker spaniel who thought he was a bird dog. She was always barking at the birds and did catch one every now and then!!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen or heard one...must keep my eyes and ears open!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend..
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Better cat than cow bird!
ReplyDeleteReally? I never heard of a catbird. How cool.
