- Yep, still raining! But there are up sides to this. We haven't had to water some new grass with the sprinkler too many times, I haven't had to weed the gardens, and when you want to sleep late on Saturday, mid morning still feels dark as night! ha.
- Can't get enough raspberries lately. I bought two pints last week and didn't share with any of the men!
- Making deviled eggs. Yum.
- Changing of the guards at dusk? Or were we under some kind of threat that required two night time guards on surveillance duty? ha.
- Samantha enjoying a rare dry afternoon and soaking up the warmth on the stone patio.
- Blueberry smoothies.
- If the sky isn't blue, at least the lobelia are!
- This little girl was around every corner today! She's been extra chatty, too. Four weeks here already! Still improving every day. She's been slipping into our bed at night and nuzzling into my hair.
- Brown sugar cookies. Recipe here. Yum.
♥
Your This and That photos are great. Your Night Guards on the roof....too cute. I could go for one of your smoothies and a cookie too, please.
ReplyDeleteLove scrolling up and down and enjoying your day. Hugs
I'm loving those smoothies...it's a great way to us up frozen berries...which I happen to have too many of right now!
DeleteBrown sugar cookies DO look good.
ReplyDeleteNew recipe to us and really yummy!
Delete14 tablespoons of butter?? Is that right? It seems a tremendous lot.
DeleteYes. It's less than two sticks.
DeleteI was admiring that wing of your house with the great window and then I saw the cat. We had a cat once that spent a lot of time on top of our chimney. It bothered people when they would stop by the house. I am glad Star is turning out to be such a nice cat.
ReplyDeleteThere's two, Larry! Look closer! haha. They are always up there....they love it.
DeleteLove your 'This and That' posts, always good food, and kitties galore...
ReplyDeleteMy cat Tom-Tilly climbs on the roof, usually chasing a squirrel or a Mockingbird that taunts her relentlessly.
Those raspberries look delicious, as do your cookies...hmmm.
Any sign of Peaches ?
~Jo
Does Tilly get up there from a tree? Ours climb the tree, leap onto the roof and then come back the same way or on the other side of the house were a pergola is close to the roof's edge.
DeleteNo sign of Peaches. I only saw him that one evening after his vet visit.
Yes, up the tree, over to the covered porch roof, and then onto the house roof. I hear her galloping along the tin porch roof, nothing dainty about it....a girl on a mission :)

I can heard cats on our roof, too! Right over my head as I sit at my desk...and the tree they go up is just outside the window so I can see them coming and going. hilarious!
DeleteLots of that and this
ReplyDeleteThe kitties sure won't miss
They have the guards ready to attack
Should any invade your shack
Looks like they were expecting trouble
Deleteand had to guard the place double.
I wonder what they do to the trespassers
as I know they think they're losers. haha...
A great collection of photos! I love the first one!
ReplyDeleteI loved the first one, too! Everything fresh and wet with rain!
DeleteHI Betsy...
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny sometimes...the things we take pictures of...then they all make perfect sense!!
I am defrosting some berries...gonna make some freezer jam tomorrow...works with frozen fruit too!!
Must easier than chopping up all that fresh fruit!!
Great photos...enjoy your evening!!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Freezer jam sounds delish! Take pictures! :)
DeleteBeautiful photos! I love the cat on the roof. :)
ReplyDeleteTwo....did you miss one? ha.
DeleteI'm still thinking about those raspberries!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so delicious this year! Intense flavor and very sweet!
DeleteLove all your photos, Betsy. And thanks for the recipe. It looks like one they would like around here. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are very rich, sweet and soft...just like a cookie should be! yum. :)
DeleteHot dog! Close-ups! Love them all. I think my favorite is the raspberries. You can see how plump they are. I had to switch from my phone to my computer to be able to see the changing of the guard. LOL! How do they get up there?
ReplyDeleteI'm loving those raspberries! Trying to choose those over chocolate and right now it's been fairly easy. haha...
DeleteThe cats climb a tree and leap over to the roof. I know my neighbors think we're crazy over here. lol.
HaHa!! You should dress your cats in doll clothes and let them walk around in the yard. That might send your neighbors over the deep end. LOL!! My daughter used to put doll dresses on her cat and tried to tie flowers to her head like a bonnet, when she was a little girl. Too funny!
DeleteI'm cracking up at the thought of Slate in a lacy bonnet. ha!
DeleteStar is looking happier and happier :)
ReplyDeleteYes! And I think she's feeling better and better!
DeleteI also looooove raspberries and can't get enough. Why do they come in such small containers?
ReplyDeleteYou must feel very protected by your own personal surveillance team... I'm glad they earn their keep!
Star is looking sooooo much better and I am picturing her nuzzling in your hair. Awwww. Need to get the Mister to snap that - ha!
Good question! Why such tiny containers? Inquiring minds want to know! Ha.
DeleteYour yard is really wonderful! So clean looking!
ReplyDeleteOh, that Star! She is beautiful!
She's improved so much...doesn't feel like a fragile skeleton when you pick her up now.
DeleteI wouldn't share the raspberries either. I mean, raspberries and blueberries are my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteYum..me, too...I bought more today!
DeleteLove smoothies!!
ReplyDeleteSo good...especially in the summer. Are you freezing cold there? :)
Deletesome days but I love ice pops and ice creams always:))
DeleteBut still not rain here:(
Great selection of photos and laughing at little Star peeping round the corner at you . . . :)
ReplyDeleteShe sure was cute yesterday! :)
DeleteI particularly loved the photos of your cats. Oh how I wish I lived someplace where it was safe for mine to go outside. How joyful it would be to watch them chase a butterfly, touch cool grass with their paws for the first time or sniff a plant they've never seen before. There are coyotes and hawks and owls here just waiting for a preoccupied kitty to slip up and become dinner. When I retire, I will search for a home in another state where they can at least bask in the sunlight sometimes.
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you! We are fortunate in that we live on a cul-de-sac...not a lot of traffic and nice neighbors. It's fairly safe, although I have had a few cats go missing and don't know what happened to them. We did have a fox in the neighborhood before. My little Star who I just got last month (rescue) is declawed and I'm leery of letting her out but she loves it and I suppose I'll let her eventually when she's totally strong and healthy. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting!
