I got this old chocolate egg mold from the auctions last year.
I had a fun idea to use it as a drawer insert in my kitchen.
Fortunately it fit exactly in this drawer and now holds a few
small kitchen things like birthday candles and toothpicks.
I like the way it rests on the sides
and my cutting boards can still lay in the drawer!

I like repurposing! You have a winner!
ReplyDeleteI thought so! How fun is that? :)
DeleteHa, ha! That's awesome. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI got lucky in that it fit perfectly! Yay! :)
DeleteYou are just one lucky lady aren't you? And as a bonus you've got me as a friend. Ha!
DeleteWhy rubber bands?
Very lucky to have you as a friend!
DeleteDon't you keep rubber bands? I need one occasionally....
Wanda's son makes and sells rubber band guns. You need one for your neighbors!
DeleteMakes a nice tidy and great utilisation of space . . . . who's a clever girl? . . . :)
ReplyDeleteWell, me of course! ha. :)
DeleteThis is where you're supposed to agree! lol....
DeleteWell that was fortuitous! Great idea and perfect fit - fun. But wait... does that mean no chocolate eggs will come to fruition? :-D
ReplyDeleteI suppose it could always take a sudsy bath in the sink and go back to it's former life. ha.
DeleteSaw your note about Peaches... :-( Keeping my fingers crossed. Poor laddie.
DeleteStopped in to the vet's office today to talk about Peaches. As soon as I can get him in a carrier, they will take a look at him. They'll put him out before taking him out of the carrier and give him a good check up and test for Feline Leukemia. If he has that or something else that is not curable, they will put him down while he's sleeping. If they can help, they will! So at least now a plan is in place.
DeleteI'm so glad. I really hope it works out. I didn't know they could anaesthetize them while still in the carrier. That would help a lot. Poor kittie - praying for Peaches.
DeleteYes...a shot through the opening to put them to sleep. They everyone is safe while they work on him.
DeleteWhat a great idea to organize all of those small items.
ReplyDeleteThe Mister already looked into the pantry and said "Hey, where did the toothpicks go?" lol....
Deletevery nifty!
ReplyDeleteNow I can enjoy it every day instead of only at Easter. ha. I do want to try some chocolate eggs some time!
DeleteOh yum! Eat one for me! :)
DeleteAre you in Colorado yet? :)
DeleteI wish! in 2 months!! :):):):)
DeleteOh, that will be here before you know it!
DeletePerfect for all the little things
ReplyDeleteThat can get lost in the wings
All in one spot
Ocd likes that a lot
My ocd likes it, too!
DeleteNeat and tidy at my zoo!
I came to visit and then had to go back and look at Pinterest because I was pretty sure I'd seen this there a little earlier this afternoon. (I've been half asleep since I got home even with a cup of coffee...) I do love little ways to get organized... or at least try. Mostly I just try, but I have some very handy squatty canning jars holding things like push pins and paperclips. They're short and squatty and fit nicely in a drawer, even a short drawer. Yeah for being squatty!

Yep, I pinned it to my upcycling/repurposing board! I like your idea, too!
DeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
What a perfect spot for it. Love the oval egg shapes...holds better than squares. I really love organized kitchen drawers. I work real hard to keep them that way.
ReplyDeleteIt does make life easier, doesn't it? I've had this for months...didn't want to sell it but didn't know what to do with it! This is perfect!
DeleteHow cool is that? It looks like it was made for it!
ReplyDeleteI know! I love it when things work out like that!
DeleteHi Betsy - clever idea and well sized up ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI think it's going to work very well!
DeleteI would be happy to make chocolate eggs in this mold!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! I love olds molds!
It would be fun! Leave them hollow or fill them with a surprise? :)
DeleteUsually I made only the chocolate but maybe some m&m inside would be fun!
DeleteExcellent re-purposing! I love it! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteIt's working out great, too...I'm really enjoying it. Makes me smile when I open that drawer! :)
