Root Vegetable Chips.
Have you tried them? I think they are addictive.
Sweet Potato, Beet, Taro, Batata, and Parsnips.
Not too salty, sweet and savory. Super crunchy.
Not at all greasy. Organic.
Two brands I've tried ~ Kroger's Simple Truth Exotic
Vegetable Chips and Terra Chips. (terrachips.com)
♥
I want these!!!
ReplyDeleteso yummy!
DeleteLove the colours too - makes eating them more fun.
DeleteBetsy, You must capture Peaches, but not on the weekend when the vet is closed. I won't rest until his situation is resolved one way or another. At least I don't have to see him in person like you. I don't know if I would have the fortitude to bear it. At any rate, hope you and your Men have a nice weekend. Lynne in NC
ReplyDeleteI stopped in the vet's office today to talk about Peaches. As soon as I can get him in a carrier, they will take a look at him. They'll put him out before taking him out of the carrier and give him a good check up and test for Feline Leukemia. If he has that or something else that is not curable, they will put him down while he's sleeping. If they can help, they will! So at least now a plan is in place.
DeleteHe was on the back porch last night, up close to the door. I was about to go to bed and saw him looking in....so I put on a coat, warmed up some rotisserie chicken and sat outside and fed him. He didn't gobble it down like usual and didn't even finish. He acted like his mouth hurt and he had trouble chewing. It's bittersweet to see him. But it does warm my heart that he's coming here now. He stayed close to me and even took a bite or two from my fingers but I didn't try to touch him. It was so cold last night. I hope he got up in the chair with the heating pad after I left. Our cats are quite accepting of him...so that is a good sign.
Anyway, the receptionist at the vet said they would take him the day I called. It might not be immediately because he does house calls for farm animals and could be out. I made note of their hours and won't even try to get him if it's not going to be convenient. Trouble is he comes at night. But it will all work out! I just want it to hurry up since he seems so miserable. I'd lure him into our warm house if I didn't think he was contagious. Sigh! But don't worry....I won't give up on him! I want him to be mine and be well!
Sounds like you have gone to a lot of trouble to set things up for him. He is so fortunate to have found his way to you. I will keep thinking of you and him with the hope that he will feel better soon, not matter what the outcome.
DeleteWell, it doesn't seem like a lot of trouble...and I want to do it. Besides, the reward might be having that sweet cat curled in my lap one day. :) I do hope his illness is treatable. It will be hard to take if it isn't. Either way, he needs help!
DeleteDid you buy them, or make them? They sound great. I love veggie chips. I would take some on the trip. I was buying snacks for the ride this morning. I always boil the eggs left in the refrigerator to take on the trip. And of course my green, yellow, red and orange peppers.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited Betsy...you are the first person I've told....Villa Ramona has ask me to do a monthly article with pictures, recipes, etc. for the Newsletter. I just saw the April edition and it looks really good. My article will be called "Thoughts from the Tree House".
Oh, I bought them....there are several brands but I just bought Kroger's store brand. Hope you can find them!
DeleteWow...now that is some exciting news! Good for you! That is PERFECT for you....you are going to have so much fun and what an opportunity. Love the title, too. Love this....you're right where you're supposed to be, aren't you? ;)
Yes, that's the way I feel. I truly believe we are right where God wants us. I've always loved to write articles for the Church Newsletter, and now I get my chance again. If I can get an extra copy...I'll send you one.
DeleteI would love one! Thanks. Blooming where you're planted!
DeleteThat's such great news, Wanda - what fun! Congratulations.
DeleteOh goodness I'm not mad for non potato chips. And what are taro and batata? I've tried beetroot and parsnip and sweet potato. OK but not a massive fan. And then there are kale chips. Too weird for me! They come covered in a sort of butter that makes them look like deep fried nettles covered in mud. Not an appetising look even if they are supposed to be good for you!
ReplyDeleteWell, you are the chip queen! haha. I had never heard of taro and batata either, but they are root vegetables. Not too common here, though!
DeleteHmmn.... interesting
DeleteThese look great! I have also had Red onion chips. Those are yummy too!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen those! Are they slices of red onion?
DeleteThey are. I think those were my favorites of all time. Not sure where they are available now. I had purchased them years ago off of SuzanneSomers.com I haven't been on her website in a long time. Not sure if she still sells them or not.
DeleteThey sounds really good! Are they cross section slices with the red rings? That would be pretty. I like my food to be pretty, you know. haha.
DeleteI like Pretty Food too. I think thats part of the reason I love those colorful bell peppers. I laughed at our son, when he would say we're having carrots cause mom needs orange to complete her dinner painting. But a pretty plate of food just tastes better.
DeleteThey were cut into wedges and separated to dry them.
DeleteSounds delish. Yes, it must be pretty! We eat first with our eyes.....or however that saying goes.
DeleteBetsy, you are my resource for learning about up and coming trends, maybe even before they actually are trends. Are they on the shelves next to potato chips?
ReplyDeleteNo, they were in the aisle with the health food, organic stuff...do you have Kroger in Chicago? It was their Simple Truth line.
Deletehttp://www.simpletruth.com/products/snacks/chips/natural-exotic-vegetable-chips/
I've also had these from Kroger and Sams Club....same thing..

Hope you can find them!
We don't have Kroger here. I usually don't do the grocery shopping, but when I do, I rarely go to he health food aisle. :) I may have to expand my horizons.
DeleteThey don't sound bad
ReplyDeleteThere at your pad
And organic too
Works for my zoo
Non GMO!
DeleteSo proud of me, I know! ha.

DeleteAt my sea
I knew you'd be!
DeleteYippee for me!
I love the white ones with the little purple speckles. I always pick all of those out of the bag.
ReplyDeleteLaurie
I like the red and orange ones! We could share a bag quite nicely! ha.
DeleteBeet and sweet potato are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI think they are mine, too! But I don't leave any in the bowl. ha.
DeleteThose chips look delicious. I would have to try a number of each to find my favorite:)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they are available in Canada.
I hope you can find them there. Try googling "terra chips"
DeleteI checked online to see if our local grocery store carries them and it says they do..where have I been?? I will be checking this out next week..or maybe tomorrow:)
DeleteYay...I hope you like them!
DeleteI'm glad to read in the comments that you bought them...I now have hope to be eating them too!
ReplyDeleteHope you can find them....so yummy!
DeleteI should edit the post to say where, shouldn't I.....I think I will....
DeleteThat looks so good ~ my mouth is watering . . . . ha
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you would like them! Might be a bit too crunchy for Peter yet.....
DeleteI see we have Terra Chips here too - I will have to look for them in the health food section... not a section I am usually in - ha!
ReplyDeleteHaha...I hadn't been until recently. All kinds of things there I had never heard of!
DeleteI need to find these...a fun way to eat my veggies.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you like them...and are addicted in the end! Lol.....
DeleteYES! Me, too!! :) blessings ~ tanna
