  4. looks delicious! I want!! But alas, I better stick to a plain apple! :) Part of the beginning of the year get-it-together-already! campaign! lol not a resolution just an ongoing need.

I saw the coolest little 'cakes-in-a-pint-jar' a few days ago! 4 jars (wide mouth) 2½ cup fresh fruit -divide evenly in bottom of jars- in a separate bowl mix ½ c. each flour & sugar and ½ tsp. salt- divide evenly among the jars - place a dollop of butter on top of each 'cake'. Set in an 8x8 cake pan. Bake at 350° for an hour, She says they are great for a picnic. Be kinda fun to try it.

    1. Well, those sound so cute and I bet they were pretty, too! I haven't baked any of those things in a jar, but I have a pinterest board full of them to try!

  5. Mmmmmm blueberries! So tasty. I have been eating a lot of frozen berries lately with yoghurt or sometimes just using them to ice up a glass of water or juice. These look so good and I love the swirl pattern of the pastry.

    2. Yes - I drink more water when I add berries or lemon or orange slices. Just jazzes it up a bit. Plus with the frozen berries you get the bonus of an ice cube effect. Yum.

    1. That's Crabtree & Evelyn china...collected it for years and so glad I did.
The tarts were yummy....had a bit of crust leftover and the berries needed to be eaten....perfect was to clean out the fridge!

    2. I do that too, it's a great way to use up bits and bobs.

Crabtree & Evelyn. ... that sounds like something I've heard, but
you know, I can't be sure. Very, very pretty.

    3. I seem to have been cooking in the bits and bobs style for weeks now.
It's fun to see what you can come up with and usually is very delicious!
The Mister always says, "Remember how you made this so we can have it again!" ha.

    4. I agree. There's something super great about those kinds of meals.

No cooking/baking for me today. Frankenberry (Hubby, Tim), is bringing
stuff in tonight. I've been spring cleaning, and sneezing and cleaning
      and sneezing ...

  11. I don't think I have ever tasted blueberries, bilberries yes, they are a close relation to your native blueberries. I find them a bit on the bitter side so I have to put oodles of sugar on them. Your tarts look good, pity I can't try one!

    1. Yes, what a pity! They were gone in a flash, though.
Blueberries are sweet...you can eat them by the handful when they are fresh...no sugar required.
When they are baked they taste totally different to me....delicious, more intense flavor.

  15. Oh those look so yummy. Don and I had to take a quick trip up North for business, so I've been off my computer...but this morning at friends where we are staying, have a chance to be on the computer for a little while. Last night we took them out to dinner and one of the desserts on the tray looked a lot like yours... I had one and it was good, along with a few other goodies that jumped on my plate. Sending love...be home in a few days.
