That sunset last night wasn't pink...it was red! Gorgeous! It was a very quick trip outside to snap that, though...Brr!
Colours and composition are gorgeous. I have not been out in two days. Wayyyyyyyyy too cold today. I thought yesterday was cold - ha! They've issued an extreme cold alert here. Yup - I knew that already!
The boys have been home the last two days, so I haven't been anywhere except on the front porch and out to the feeders. Yes, it is terribly cold...my fingers hurt inside my gloves in just five minutes!
I bought some cute mitts this winter made with heavy wool outside and heavy felt inside. They are sort of like talking puppet heads. Too funny. I figure if you have to endure winter you might as well make it fun. I also wear the lovely mitts you made for the shop... but during this deep freeze I need my "hand puppets!" Hee hee.
You can never have too many mitts! Ha.
The sunsets are so great and the moonlight is so great all night with the snow reflecting it. It is strange how it is so cold and windy and yet these things are still going on.
Almost makes you feel warm, doesn't it? ha.
Oh wow! That's gorgeous!
Isn't it? It was a surprise, too...almost missed it! That red glow caught my attention!
Fantastic shot! You get better every day with that camera. The scene would make a great header for this time of the year.
It would make a good header! I really wish, for the sunsets, that I lived out on a farm where there was a vast horizon and nothing to block the view! I never take sunrise shots...I don't see the sunrise from my house! Trees and houses are in the way on that side!
Brilliant shot again Betsy. That fire just gives us a glimmer of hope amidst a freezing environment . . . .:)I'd much rather see that snow than be in it _~ I would be an abominable snowman in no time . . . . lolI think your photography is so could you could very well be a published artist . . . . :)
, , , so good . . .
Eddie - Betsy IS a published artist. Haven't you seen the calendars? They are too good to throw out at the end of the year!
Yes . . . . of course . . . . but I was thinking of up market magazines . . . . agree? . . . . :)
Eddie.....you are ABSOLUTELY right......
"Time"? "Tatler"? "Private Eye"?
Not Private Eye ~ thinking of The National Geographic and Vogue and stuff like that . . . . . Top Class . . . . : )
Serene and beautiful !Perfect shot.~Jo
Thanks, Jo....it was very serene and beautiful! Cold, but beautiful!
Is it too late for coffee?I wouldn't want to be up all night just staring at the ceiling.Maybe I'll come back for a cup in the morning.:0)
well, it's decaf after 4pm. :)
Will there be cookies tomorrow?
Cookies? Only if you bring them! ha.
I thought so....such a dark red...just had to take a picture!
I saw the sunset out of the corner of my window upstairs...I actually took a picture....but nothing like yours!Exquisite!Enjoy your evening....Cheers!Linda :o)
I really want to move the buildings that are in the way of my sunset pictures! haha. Not possible, I know, but I always feel like they make it less than ideal. ha.
Fire melts iceBrings summer that is so nice
No summer just yet.The beauty of winter you just don't get!Who wants to sweat and feel hot?Me? No, I'd rather not!Give me some socks and a cup of tea!Maybe on the bed throw an extra blankie!lol....
lol hot outdoors and cold indoors works for meWhen I have to drive in it the beauty does escape my sea
I prefer cold out and warm in,especially if I'm a hermit in my den.ha.
That is just gorgeous!
I guess it's never too cold for a fiery sunset!
Hi Betsy - what a great photo of what obviously was a spectacular day ... nature does bring it all to us ... wonderfully captured and then titled up "Fire and Ice" .. so true ... cheers Hilary
If you could only feel how frigid it is here! Well, you probably don't want to. Lol....

I'm having computer issues, so if you see this 20 times, please ignore! We had a beautiful sunset like this the other night too and the cold got the better of me. I wish I had taken a photograph, each sunset is a gift!
