    2. No cooking for you tonight? Lucky you! I have done a bit of spring cleaning around here myself this week!

    3. Do you get a lot of sun during the winter? We do, it's super nice
to see, even if it's cold out. Yes, can't let them go hungry.

    4. Yes... we probably have very similar weather being in neighboring states and all.

    5. Did you get spring ants last week? Good gosh, we saw two. Now none,
with the colder than life of Mars weather. But still. Ants.

Though what am I saying? I'm spring cleaning. Come spring I want
to be done with the last bit of pile that I don't know what to do with.

      Have a great weekend, Betsy.

    6. No ants here....in January? Aren't they supposed to be hibernating or something? Lol.....they must have smelled something good in your kitchen. Ha.

Good for you on the spring cleaning! I'm just doing a tiny bit each day.....will take me weeks, but that's fine....I'll finish by spring, I think!

  5. Laughing! Love his little cocked head - so darn sweet. I don't know how all the furry and feathery beasts survive this cold. And birdies are so tiny. Ah well, I know you are keeping your neighbourhood fed, and that's a good thing!

    1. It is amazing that they can survive. Feathers don't seem like they would be as warm as fur. And their little bare legs! Brr.

  7. Wow - what a great capture. Aren't they the sweetest things. I spent a good part of my day feeding birds at our lot in Manotick. They were all so hungry and happy to have the sun on their backs. One little morning dove ate and then rested on a branch for a long time in the sun. So beautiful to see. We had a nice day today, Betsy. Not frigid cold like the last two. It was only -8. haha! We Canadians are rugged.

    1. We were about 10 degrees warmer, too. A heat wave ...lol...At least we had sun, like you mentioned...the birds were soaking it up! And the cats were soaking it up inside, too....every little sunspot on the furniture and floor! ha.

  20. Yup, that is exactly what that bird is asking, Betsy. Filled our feede today and the birds immediately came to eat. One little sparrow sat in the tree beside the feeder and didn't move an inch while the feeder was filled. Too cold to move and wanted to be first at the feeder:)
