Hi Betsy, Happy Weekend. Great photos as always. Your salad in that last photo makes me hungry! I saw your jar tags earlier in your shop; they are really cute. My brother is working on our family history and I have been scanning photos of WWII photos of family members so the sewing kit is especially interesting to me. Have a good evening. MIldred (love Samantha too)
Hi Mildred! That sewing kit is really neat. They didn't waste any space, of course...it has two spools of thread..khaki and green... and a cylinder with needles in it fits down the center of the spools. One needle was still threaded with the green! I know this particular soldier was on the USS Bunker Hill and it just made me wonder where he was when he sewed on that button....or split in his pants. :)
Sweet pictures. One of my favorite desserts lately is to whip up 4 oz of softened cream cheese and then beat in a 6 oz strawberry yogurt. It makes great dip for apple slices or maybe pretzels, though I haven't tried anything other than apples. My cats think being inside asleep on the couch or by the fire is good, or sitting by me and patting my arm. That's the golden cat, as Simon calls her. :0)
I'll have to try your dip! It's a little healthier than mine (cream cheese, powdered sugar and cool whip). I do think we ate more strawberries with the dip than we would have without, though.
Cats are good for finding cozy spots. With this bitter cold, more of ours are hanging around inside...I keep stumbling across them in the funniest locations. ha.
Actually, I used to post here a couple of years ago, and just started back to blogging. As an SLP, I have worked with many students with autism. I admire your tenacity of living with three guys that have autism and the challenges the autism probably creates.
Good thing you had dessert to offer after your light supper...or did you need to make your supper light because you ruined your appetite by eating dessert first?
lol...well, probably not....I don't do well just doing nothing. I don't even sit and watch tv. But....I'm trying to do something about that since I've been feeling so stressed lately! I think I need to try to do nothing! I have been a little successful this week...two long soaks in a hot bath and I've gone to bed earlier. I should take a clue from Samantha, right? ha.
Interesting lot of this and thats ~ strawberries look like they want eating ~ I could help you out there. Nice shot of Samantha. Have you got your full complement of cats ~ bet you sometimes have a roll call each morning . . . . :)
haha...well, since they are free to come and go, I don't take roll call. But on really cold nights like we've had, if there seems to be a lot of cats in the kitchen, I'll do a head count. It isn't very often that they are all here...but they have been all week this week! But who can blame them with the wicked cold that we have! brr!
Every photo has something really neat, love the pin and the sewing kit with the thimble as part of the lid and the neat jar tags. The strawberries look delish with the cream and those cookies. Cute little Samantha. Love your this and thats.
Didn't even know what the sewing kit was at my sea Now I guess I do thanks to thee Samantha looks a bit miffed Like with the vacuum she's been whiffed haha
I wouldn't have known either what that was but I think it's cool, just because! Samantha might be little be mighty she is and doesn't scare with that vacuum biz. She likes to follow it around. She really is a clown!
Samantha looks larger than what I remember in other photos... or maybe she just came in from outside and is fluffed up! She is so pretty. I love those wee spoons - too cute. Looks like something the Borrowers would use! Is that a Waldorf salad? Looks so good. I see there are some new things in the shop... must go have a peek.
I think it's just the camera angle. She's a tiny little girl.
That is kind of like a waldorf slaw. haha...my own concoction....slaw with a lime juice dressing and then add apples and poppy seeds. yummy and a nice change!
Hi Betsy .. the bad, good and bad - but delicious. Love the supper too ... The tags, spoons and filled jars are great ... while the little brooch is delightful .. and Samantha .. looks too cute and cuddly ... wonderful shots .. cheers Hilary
Every single image brought a smile! The little hummingbird pin reminds me of the windchime I found last year. Like the crow... I'm attracted to shiny objects. LOL. ;)
You find the neatest "stuff"! I guess I am going to have to find a job in an auction..because when I go to flea markets all I seen to find is junk. I love your mason jars- that is a wonderful idea for gifts.
You should try that cookie recipe again just to see....seems like she would have told you they would look raw when you take them out of the oven, though!
