Some progress to be seen today as the upper cabinets were installed!
The rest of the plywood was ripped from the floor,
and some plans were made for some of the cabinets
which will contain lights.
One more cabinet to go over the refrigerator.
A piece of the old counter, the old sink and faucet came back so
we could function a bit better. Funny thing about that, I didn't
realize that would happen and threw out the stopper to the sinks!
So, I still washed from a plastic bucket last night. haha.
Thankfully I remembered to pick one up today while I was out.
A dollar well spent.
Here's the view when you step in the house from the front door. ha.
And here's my view from the makeshift kitchen
I set up in the living room. Oh my!
Just a bit more of that plywood left to tear up in the foyer!
Then we're on to paint and new floors!
Once there isn't any more dust created, I can start
washing up everything in the house.
That part, I'm actually looking forward to...restoring some order!
I escaped the mess today and even thought it literally
rained cats and dogs on me all day long, I enjoyed
some shopping, lunch and errands.
Things are looking up!
I might even get my dishwasher connected soon. ha.
♥
Oh my - things are coming together!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking a bit better, isn't it? :)
DeleteI see TV is still being watched - grinning. By the way, I love that giant cloche with the books nestled under it. So lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's Alex...he just plops down in the dust and watches. haha....
DeleteLooks like things are levelling out after hitting rock bottom, and are now on the way up ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) You will soon be back to normal now.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think the worst is over!
DeleteI love that face you made!
It's looking good. The fun part will soon begin as things start going back together.
ReplyDeleteYes...can't wait! The counter tops might be delayed for a while but the rest of the kitchen will be looking good.
DeleteI think there has been REAL progress there today ~ it is beginning to look great and it should look stunning, like it's owner, when it is finished . . . :)
ReplyDeleteYes, and it's amazing what running water in the kitchen will do for my mood. haha....6 days was long enough!
DeleteSo if you leave the tap on you are in a good mood . . . ha
DeleteI guess that's one way of putting it, yes. Lol.
DeleteI am thoroughly enjoying your updates ... Still close to 80 and sunny out here! I'm on pins and needles right now watching the Cards and a Dodgers! Go Cardinals!!
ReplyDeleteyay Cardinals! Hope they win! :)
DeleteWell it looks better than before
ReplyDeleteMaybe not the clutter at your shore haha
Those nerves have got to be shot
With the dust and its evil plot
Cats could rain on you with ease
But dogs? Geez adding more to your zoo to tease
Tomorrow when that floor is finished being pulled up
Deletethen the dust clouds will finally stop.
And cleaning I can do
as I sing a cheery yahoo.
lol....
Betsy, knowing how punctiliously neat and tidy you are, this must really be driving you crazy. But you can already start to see how nice this will look when it's all done.
ReplyDeleteI just try to hibernate in my studio when I'm home. haha. But yes, it's a bit much. ...but after tomorrow things will really start falling into place! Can't wait for that!
DeleteThat is much better....
ReplyDeleteYou'll be in there making some Apple Pie Bread in no time!
I know what you mean about cleaning everything....great therapy♥️
Cheers!

DeleteStarting to take shape!! It won't be long now!! This is like watching one of those reno's on HGTV.... HAHAHA..... thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteIt really is, isn't it? But I'm glad a camera isn't in my face the whole time. lol....
DeleteI can see a kitchen in there! It's going to be great! The chaos of living in a construction zone will be done soon,,,
ReplyDeleteIt really will be! Yay! Tomorrow is the last of the dust and then I can start the recovery mode. lol....
Deleteha. just keep imagining it being done...you only have to live in chaos for so long...smiles.
ReplyDeleteyes! About half way through, I'm guessing! yay!
DeleteLights in cabinets and restoring order sound great to me. Carry on....
ReplyDeleteThey sound great to me, too! :) Keep calm and carry on...
DeleteIt's coming on a treat.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard that expression before! Love It!
DeleteDefinitely coming on a treat!
ReplyDeleteIn the old days of the Soviet Union none of the baths or basins ever had a plug (stopper?) so regular travellers used to pack a small rubber ball.
What an interesting little tidbit of information! Love that kind of stuff!
DeleteI haven't had a chicken/bacon/ranch pizza in weeks! Maybe I'll have one tonight!
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me, too...haven't had it in a while!
DeleteWow, they are getting on really well with it now aren't they! xx
ReplyDeleteI love it when I can see some progress! yay~!
DeleteHi Betsy - definitely looks better and will most definitely be distinctly smart ... a little more pain and then lots of gain ... cheers Hilary
