Hail

They called it sleet.
But it wasn't wet or mixed with drizzle, so I call it hail.
It came down like hail, bouncing off the ground.
The Mister was trying to cut grass and came inside until it stopped.
Yeah, he said it stung! Crazy!
It was a balmy 43F degrees (6C) today with wind.
A big change from 84F (28C) just two days ago!

    1. I know! Brr! We have the furnace running! The first of October is a little early!

  2. Ours went from scorching to freezing in a couple days too. And there has been heavy rain in areas but no hail or sleet. It's 54F now but was much cooler last night. I like the cool!

    1. Yes, I'd rather it was cool than sweltering. This is the damp cold, though, that makes you want to snuggle under a blanket with some coffee!

  3. It did a little of that here too. I'm really not ready for this cold yet. We had to break down and turn on the heat tonight.

Bouncing off the ground !! . . . . very heavy hail indeed.
Hope it warms up for you again soon.

    1. "churped"? What language is that?

    2. I was wondering about 'churped', too!

    3. A typo - should be 'chirped up' meaning it 'bucked up' or improved. . .

  5. It's very cold here, but I will not give in and turn on the gas heating this early in the season. Gas prices are too high, and I don't want to run up a big bill before the weather gets really cold on my meagre pension! I sit here with my top coat, hat and scarf on and I'm quite warm.

  14. If it is lumpy it's hail. Sleet is worse it always seems to be driven by 50mph winds.

  15. It has been so much cooler here today and yesterday, yesterday it rained like crazy in the morning, and then cleared up, but more rain is, I think, forecast for the week ahead. I hope that you don't get any more hail, that is not nice to be out in at all is it. xx
