- While all the other cats have escaped the reno noise by running outside, Slate prefers to hang out with me in my studio. It's nice to have such furry company.
- The only thing done in the kitchen today was having the measurements taken for the counter tops. I'm dealing fine with everything except not having water in the kitchen. Most inconvenient!
- Remember when I said I thought the reno would make me richer and skinnier? Well, I lost 2 pounds and listed over 40 new items in my shop this week. ha. I'm thinking maybe my laptop and printer should stay in the studio from now on!
- Today, I escaped the mess of the house and went to the arthritis doctor. Got some injections to make my hands feel like new and a prescription of mobic. He said to try magnesium glycinate (thanks Alaine!) to see if that helped before filling the script, so we shall see!
- Have you ever bought something wonderful for your home and then ended up rearranging the whole house to accommodate the new thing? Well, I brought a rather large item home from the auction yesterday and we've decided on the perfect spot for it. What is currently in that perfect spot will have to move, kicking another item out of a spot...and so the chain reaction goes! We're still discussing the possibilities. Oh my!
- I'm off to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink....the bathtub, I've discovered, makes my back hurt. The sink is kind of small but at least I'm standing upright! Sorry Don...no vintage flowery aprons found at the auction yesterday. haha.
♥
Aw - so nice to see a kitty! Hope your hands feel better soon. All the pics look great and I, for one, like that you have been in your studio. Because I benefit!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I showed a kitty picture! Not too many in here to photograph!
DeleteSlate is so sweetly loyal, isn't he? Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail, nor threat of jackhammer! He is a good kitty.
DeleteWe say that almost every day and then add, "Who would have gotten rid of him?" He seems to have belonged to someone at once time. He's just too tame and used to household noises, unlike the true feral cats who had to become accustomed to every little noise from vacuums to toilets flushing. Yet not being neutered kind of puts a wrench into my theory that he was domesticated. Who knows for sure...but he is a wonderful cat.
DeleteYes I read this now and remember when he arrived.poor thing.
DeleteBut really is adorable and love when he wants sleep with the kids:))
Yes, he still tried to sleep with them every night! ha.
DeleteSlate would rather stay in
ReplyDeleteAnd take the blinds for a spin haha
Good time to rearrange at least at your sea
Since everything is already topsy turvy
Lots of work done
Just means you'll have more time for fun
Well, that is true
Deletesince everything is already askew!
Might as well change everything
in every corner of our wing!
After 26 years of living in this space
I think everything needs a new place!
ha.
Make it all brand new
DeleteUntil another 26 years come due
damn, then I'd be as old as you
Are now at your zoo lol
Pat in his fifties!
DeleteWon't that be nifty! Haha
I think he's the best company ever!
ReplyDeleteHe really is! We have all kinds of kitties here...the shy, the mischievous, the proud...but he is the all round best of everything you would want in a cat.
DeleteI like some fuzzy company too. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm very intrigued and will be waiting to find out what you got at the auction!
Hope your hands are feeling better quickly!
I know... I'm excited to show it! I need to clean it up and get it into its new spot...and the rearrange the house. Lol.....
DeleteMy hands are good today..just sore where he dug those needles in between my joints! Lol...
I love Slate Betsy!
ReplyDeleteHe is really sweet, aw this face:)
xo
He is a sweetie, that is for sure! He seeks me out wherever I am....follows me around the house. Ha.
DeleteThat adorable loyal little scamp! Feels like I can almost reach out and stroke that handsome coat. You so hit the jackpot with him. I know what you mean about the domino effect when something new is brought into the house. Lynne in NC
ReplyDeleteI really did, Lynne, and think that every day. He brings me a lot of happiness...such a wonderful guy.
DeleteI think I may have the rearranging figured out. We can't actually try it yet, but in my mind it works. Lol.
Washing dishes for five in he bathroom sink? YIKES! Hope you're using disposables.
ReplyDeleteYes...as much paper as possible right now...which is so unlike me....this is going to make that new sink and dishwasher seem even better Than it would have if we had gone directly to them without the break from water. It's always good to be grateful. Ha.
DeleteRandom Thoughts.... I was surprised when I saw this! I figured you wouldn't have time for ANYTHING else except the reno project! And then to mention me in the very last item... oh, how nice of a surprise THAT was!! You're sweet! I sure hope your remodel stays on track with the weekend now getting thrown into the mix. I think I would be buying a lot of paper plates!! And somehow I just know that flowery apron is going to show up one day totally unexpected! xo
ReplyDeleteWell, I always have random thoughts going through my head, as you know. ....even while living in chaos! Hahaa.....yes lots of paper plates. I still use my favorite stone coffee mugs, though....don't want to send myself into depression with a yucky styrofoam one. Lol....yep, I'm keeping an eye out for a matronly looking old apron....just wait! Ha.
DeleteI just found your blog and was greeted by such a handsom kitty. We also adopted a stray who is the best cat I have ever had. He lets the neighborhood kids pick him up anyway they want and loves to visit the neighbors for some additional petting. Thanks for sharing - and I hope your reno goes well.
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn! I think those rescue kitties make the best pets...they are so grateful and affectionate! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment! I love to know who is reading!
DeleteAnd your site looks interesting, too! :)
DeleteI have been looking everywhere for the magnesium glycinate for my hands and knees. Did you find it online? I hope your reno moves quickly..I've washed clothes in the sink before when we had to move into a rental while our home was being built. Not fun.
ReplyDeleteYes! Online at Swanson health products. I buy all if our stuff there....great prices. Mine should arrive in a few days, and I can't wait to try it.
DeleteRandom comments. I just started to take magnesium too. I continue to be blessed by your upbeat attitude. We often move things around to accommodate my husbands large plant collection...I need to do a post about that. Slate is like my Bugsy, a good little companion!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see your VERY LARGE and AMAZING find from our auction the other day in its new home!!! I am saying that it is THE FIND OF THE YEAR...so far!
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy - well life moves on - I've been away .. so am going to dash through your last week .. and see where you're at. Delighted Slate decided to stay with you ... and I hope the arthritis eases ... I think I'd be eating off paper plates?! Cheers Hilary
