  1. Better do as he says Betsy. My grandmother always said that cardinals could grant wishes. My grandfather always swore that the very first thing I said was "red bird". :-) Lynne in NC

    1. Is that right! That is good to know! I love this little guy! He's been around for years all year long! He makes eye contact through the window and sings to me. I'm smitten. ha. I'd gladly trade bird seed for a wish! :)

  4. Too funny - he is your birdie boyfriend! And doesn't he look handsome in that straight-on shot. I can never get over their vibrancy. Do you keep the feeders full in the spring/summer as well?

    1. He is! He's so handsome, how can I not get weak knees. lol... Yes, I keep them full all year. He's spoiled!

    2. He is indeed. And he knows it! I was just reading about feeding them at this time of year and the site I was on said "yes!" because a) the plants and bushes are not in full swing yet for them to eat from and b) they are mating and collecting and nesting in the spring and that takes even more energy. Makes sense and hadn't thought much about that!

    3. yes, and I think they get in the habit of having the supply there...if you suddenly stop, it's really hard on them to find a new source.

    1. I hate that they make you have a title each day
That should be a decision for me to leave or take away!
      Why do they care
if the title I want to leave bare?

    2. So they can have a search engine chime
Without a title google thinks its a crime

    1. What??? I believe you wear a yellow costume, Ed. ;)

Keith...he's usually a gentleman (the bird, not Eddie). I don't know where his manners were! I guess he was really hungry. The thing is, when I went out there with seed, the feeder wasn't completely empty...almost, but not totally barren. ha.

  11. Does the Mister approve of all these "flighty" relationships you are involved in!! HaHa. You are a doll, he got that right. My birds are not happy with me, as I've been so busy, I haven't bought more seed. I can take my humming bird feeder...they won't make a mess on a balcony, but the other birds will have to go next door, as she puts out lots of good seeds.

    1. Oh, he knows I coo out the window at all of them, flirting shamelessly. lol....
Well, it's good to know your birds can go next door! It will be fun to see if you get hummingbirds!

  17. If your garden birds are anything like mine in terms of their appetite (mine can't compare in colour) then it is a non-stop process keeping them fed at the moment. I have taken to buying cheap loafs from the Supermarket to feed them with.

    1. It is non-stop! I can't believe how much they eat. I don't think they do anything else all day long!

  19. I understand when birds talk to you.
We have two bird baths. One for the crows and the other is for all the rest.
When the crows don't have water in theirs, they all sit on the fence and "talk" to me. Telling me they need water.

    1. Oh, that is funny! How nice of the crows not to raid the other bath! haha.
