Random Thoughts

snug in bed this morning
  1. The boys got up at the crack of dawn all during Thanksgiving Break.  But today, when vacation was over, they slept late!  I had to resort to tickles and removing blankets to get them going!
  2. Squirrels will always raid a bird feeder.  How could we possibly have a squirrel when we have 14 cats??
  3. Wearing your hair down on a windy day and chewing gum is not a good combination. No, my gum didn't blow out into my hair, but my hair did blow into my mouth and stick on the gum.  ha.  Felt like a kid. haha.
  4. Baking cookies makes your house smell wonderful.
  5. I experienced my first Cyber Monday as an online shop owner.  Fourteen sales total isn't all that bad, I'm thinking, for my lowly little shop of second hand stuff. :)
  6. Catnip will make even the most stoic of cats throw all dignity out the window and roll around on the floor with glee.
  7. Gave the boys long overdue haircuts last night.  I took the sheet that caught all of the hair outside in the dark and shook it out.  When I went outside this morning to fill the bird feeder, that lump of hair was so big I thought it was an animal!  ha.  Need a strong wind to come by...
  8. I'm loving these crisp fall days...perfect for making soup for dinner!
  9. I'm working an auction this coming Wednesday.  Sounds like a huge one with an estate who's owner collected 100 clocks and historical memorabilia, including a letter written and signed by George Washington in 1791!  Hope I have time to take some photos!
  10. I cleaned out the coat closet today.  Now all the scarves and gloves are organized and the coats are orderly.  I found my old forgotten rabbit fur ear muffs.  Hmm.  Maybe I better not show them to Nugget. lol.
  11. OK..I'll stop now before you think I'm too crazy.  But you already knew that, right?  ha.

Just under the covers!! ha ha ha...
Put some paprika in your bird seed...
The pesky squirrels DO NOT LIKE IT!!!

    Enjoy your evening...

    FIRST...FIRST...FIRST
    But....certainly not the last...

    Cheers!

    2. Or a mixture of chili peppers...cayenne..
I am at my wits end with our red squirrel...
      Empties the feed in minutes...
The hot herbs don't bother the birds at all..
I have even rubbed vaseline up the poles..they hate that too!!!
      hahahahahahahahaha...take that, red!!

    3. yep....you remember when Harry's curls were bothering him so he cut it himself? haha. Well, he's been eyeing those curls in the mirror like he didn't like them! I thought I better do it before he got a hold of the scissors! ha.

  4. aw sweet picture of your sleeping boys!

we have those pesky squirrels too! It helps if I have an ear of corn on a tree far away from the bird feeder. We have fed them cayenne already which seemed to help.

Agree with number 8! Love soup! I posted one today.

Sounds like a fun and interesting auction!

    1. I wouldn't mind feeding the squirrel, too, but he can empty a feeder in 20 minutes! ha. I'll try the cayenne...if the birds all run for the birdbath for a drink, though, I'll know it's too much! haha.

going to check out your soup! ;)

  5. Awww the boys all tucked in... that is so sweet. Do they pull the covers off each other when they turn over, like my dearest does to me. HaHa

What a busy day... I had one too. Fall decorations are down, and some of the Christmas is up. Decorated my front porch, and put the red throw and pillows on the couch. Tomorrow Don will tackle the loft in the garage for the rest of my Christmas stuff.

    1. You, too? lol....I have to have a death grip on the blankets or he'll steal them all! I always tell him he rolls up like a mummy each time he turns over! :)

The only Christmas decor I've done is taking the fall wreath off of the front door. Does that count? haha...later this week I'll have to get busy on that.

  11. Hi Betsy .. do the boys do "three in a bed, and the little one said roll over?" ... I suspect that's not an option - sounds like your usual kind of day ... but tomorrow's auction should be amazing and I sure hope you can get some photos in .. that will be a good report back post (or two or three!) .. cheers Hilary

  12. The boys look so cute sleeping as "one". I wonder if when one turns over do the other two turn within a few minutes. Somehow it just reminded me of how they must have been while you were carrying them.

Don't know anything about squirrels but I do hope you get some great pictures to share with us at the auction. Looking forward to them.

    Oh and love the haircuts.

    God bless.

    And how rude
Blow the hair of your brood
To your tightie whitie neighbors yard
Hopefully you at least give him a xmas card hahaha

  19. I've been busy grannying this week and missed lots of your posts so I'm just catching up. Your comment about hair in your mouth made me laugh. I used to have really short hair but now I wear it in a bob. I like it, but the way it blows in the wind and sticks to my lip gloss drives me mad!

  20. Your first photo could double as a Norman Rockwell scene, Betsy. How sweet yoir sons look sleeping in the same position.

I love cyber Monday! It's the way I've shopped for years now as I send most of my gifts cross country. It save on shipping and trips to the mall and post office!
