I did a lot of browsing on Pinterest at table settings
just before Thanksgiving. Such beautiful ideas!
One thing that I liked was having a little gift at each plate.
I didn't want to put a lot of time or money into
them, but still wanted them to look special.
I ended up finding some things at the craft store.
Tiny gold take out containers, ribbon with a leaf pattern,
brown shredded paper filler and
a box of assorted chocolate truffles.
They added just the sparkle I was looking for!
I might have to do it again for Christmas!

Oh, and it's about time for Santa to umm...make an appearance.

when his song he had sung.

Yes! Or butter mints...do you have those? They are so smooth and melty...can be very addictive. ha.
DeleteNope...
DeleteBut probably another name here...
Small candy canes would also be very festive!!
No wonder you have all those birds hanging out just outside your windows! They're enjoying the fun and festivities going on inside. (Do you have many bugs on your walls?)
ReplyDeleteBugs? ha...thankfully no...the cats take care of those immediately. lol...
DeleteWell then, I guess I don't want to be one of those. ;)

ReplyDeletex
thanks, kitty! Say hello to gumgum for me. :)
DeleteYou set a lovely table Betsy.
ReplyDeletethanks, cali....it was really fun to do!
DeleteSuch a sweet (literally!) idea. Love it - I think it is so YOU too. Special, sweet & simple. Thanks for sharing. We all read a scripture from the printable place cards I downloaded this year and I believe God honored us by giving us an extra special time together because of it. He's so good like that.
ReplyDeleteI like that idea, too! My inlaws used to have that stack of daily verses sitting with the salt and pepper shakers and would read one at each meal. :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful idea, Betsy! (Pinterest is great, but I definitely get "lost" on there sometimes... One thing leads to another... and another... Ha!)

Oh, I know! I have to be careful or I'm on there for hours and repinning everything! haha
DeleteLovely idea ... I am having a houseful (first Christmas with all four of my children since the early 90s.) I can just see our dinner table with those charming little goody boxes sparkling in soft candle light!!!!
ReplyDeleteoooh...make sure you take a picture! How wonderful you will all be together! :)
DeleteBetsy, you make LIFE special for your family. =)
ReplyDeleteaw, thanks....I really try! :)
DeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful table setting for the Holiday. And I would imagine the gift was gobbled up by everyone. I repinned an idea where you melt mints in the oven, and when they harden after cooling, you have a plate in which you can give cookies and gifts away on it and not have to worry about getting your plate back. It was really eye catching. Really enjoyed all of your pictures of the festivities.
God bless.
