What I Did Wednesday #17

  1. Put my little pink auction bowl on the pink table and filled it with Godiva Strawberry Cream Filled Truffles.
  2. Made the last batch of sour cream cut out cookies.
  3. Had some new insulation added to the crawl space under the house and up in the attic. After 23 years, we needed a new layer! Not the best group of men to work with though. They took a smoking break in the crawl space directly under my desk in the kitchen and the tobacco smell filled the house. After a kind request NOT to do that, they stopped. Then they left quite a mess in my workroom where the attic entrance is. Most businesses that come in clean up after themselves. The Mister is making a phone call this afternoon. Good grief! :)
  4. We had a new front door installed last week. (those men vacuumed up their mess! just sayin') I just got around to wiping it down and cleaning the glass today. Very nice! Although, you know the sounds of your home that are so familiar, like the way the front door sounds when someone comes and goes? Well, this door is silent! Not a squeak, pop or click! Nothing! I've been startled a few times by my men walking about and I didn't even know they had come home! ha.
  5. Enjoyed hazelnut creamer in my coffee....and wearing my favorite grey woolly sweater.
  6. Caught this cute little kitten from the new litter looking at me while I sat at my desk.
  7. Scheduled THE haircut. Oh yeah, it's time for my ponytail to be sent to Locks Of Love. I guess that story will be a part of What I Did Wednesday of next week! :)
  8. Cleared out a bunch of old phone numbers from my cell. Several of my friends have cancelled their land lines and only have their cell now.
  9. Removed the border in the laundry room. Friend Kris is coming next week to paint.
  10. Have this red wooden sleigh and it's kind of plain. I have plains to make it look a little more special. Details to come at a later day. First coat is drying as I type. :)
  11. Misted my pine wreath on the front door. Will that make it last longer? I hope so!
  12. Enjoyed the view of the Christmas tree from the kitchen.
  13. Put a batch of pecan bars in the freezer.
I hope you're having a wonderful day!
What did you do?

  1. I scowled at the rain outside, and did several loads of laundry, worked with a potty training toddler, cleaned my bathrooms, and am making supper as we speak. :) What color are you painting your laundry room?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Rebecca ~ sounds like a full day! Good luck with the potty training! :)

The laundry room is going to be grey, just like my bedrooom. :)

  3. I have a grey bathroom, and I like it alot. It's a neutral color you can add any color to accent it ya know? Yeah, potty training is not my favorite part of mothering. :p

  4. My kitchen has always been grey and white and I haven't tired of it all these years! And I love my bedroom color. It is a nice neutral...very peaceful.

  10. I have a ? Betsy. Do you plan a monthly or weekly menu, or do you just decide what's for dinner every day. You seem to have such a nice variety, and sometimes I wish I lived next door so I could show up for supper. :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Gloria ~ I have a pile of clothes to iron! ha. Please come and do mine! :)

Can't wait to see your new recipe...all of your posts are wonderful!

  12. Rebecca ~ No, I'm not that organized. ha. What I do is buy my meat every two weeks and have that stocked up so I can cook whatever I'm in the mood for or whatever fits the schedule. I buy in bulk at Sams club and buy whatever is on clearance. Then weekly I buy a variety of salad stuff, veggies, etc and rotate that in to fit the entree. And we eat really simply...nothing that takes a lot of time to prepare. I'm not a casserole or recipe person....I really prefer a grilled piece of meat paired with a salad...simple and easy.

Now, yes please move in next door! Wouldn't that be fun! I would love that. :)

  17. i love popping into your wednesdays - so comforting.

love the new (to me) header - this month's moon knocked me off my feet especially on sunday around 6 pm when we were driving east from a concert - it was huge and brilliant gold and there i was without my camera! that will teach me to leave the house without my camera (something i rarely do!)

  25. Gloria's right. When a painting is beautiful enough, it isn't very important what the frame looks like.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Gloria ~ an apricot tree? Oh that sounds wonderful! Make sure you take pictures of your jam! Apricot and peach are my favorite jams.

    ReplyDelete

  32. Just read your list and you were one busy girl!!!

Ickful that you had to deal with the workmen who were so rude.
When people are Inconsiderate inside someone's home like that, its so very maddening.

    Blessings to you and yours!

    In Him,
    Grace

I'm sure that would delight with all it's rings...haha
Sounds like you got the low diddum workers this time
You'd think they'd go smoke up outside on their dime
Ahhh the slow, half "you know" workers
Just as annoy as scary "Of" lurkers...haha

  46. Reading this makes me think that we need some new insulation up in our attic. I was just wondering if they took away what was there before or just layered the new insulation on top?

Your days are always so busy and I seem to do less than that in a week.

It is so nice for you to share so much with us each week. Thank you.

    God bless.

  49. Betsy, you always make me feel like such a slacker with all you can get done in a day!! LOL!! Your new front door is lovely; you may need a little string of jinglebells on it for sound! LOL! I do hate it when workers leave their mess along with their stinky smoke smells!! Maybe I'll try to be more like you today and get more done!! ;) blessings ~ tanna
