- Put my little pink auction bowl on the pink table and filled it with Godiva Strawberry Cream Filled Truffles.
- Made the last batch of sour cream cut out cookies.
- Had some new insulation added to the crawl space under the house and up in the attic. After 23 years, we needed a new layer! Not the best group of men to work with though. They took a smoking break in the crawl space directly under my desk in the kitchen and the tobacco smell filled the house. After a kind request NOT to do that, they stopped. Then they left quite a mess in my workroom where the attic entrance is. Most businesses that come in clean up after themselves. The Mister is making a phone call this afternoon. Good grief! :)
- We had a new front door installed last week. (those men vacuumed up their mess! just sayin') I just got around to wiping it down and cleaning the glass today. Very nice! Although, you know the sounds of your home that are so familiar, like the way the front door sounds when someone comes and goes? Well, this door is silent! Not a squeak, pop or click! Nothing! I've been startled a few times by my men walking about and I didn't even know they had come home! ha.
- Enjoyed hazelnut creamer in my coffee....and wearing my favorite grey woolly sweater.
- Caught this cute little kitten from the new litter looking at me while I sat at my desk.
- Scheduled THE haircut. Oh yeah, it's time for my ponytail to be sent to Locks Of Love. I guess that story will be a part of What I Did Wednesday of next week! :)
- Cleared out a bunch of old phone numbers from my cell. Several of my friends have cancelled their land lines and only have their cell now.
- Removed the border in the laundry room. Friend Kris is coming next week to paint.
- Have this red wooden sleigh and it's kind of plain. I have plains to make it look a little more special. Details to come at a later day. First coat is drying as I type. :)
- Misted my pine wreath on the front door. Will that make it last longer? I hope so!
- Enjoyed the view of the Christmas tree from the kitchen.
- Put a batch of pecan bars in the freezer.
I hope you're having a wonderful day!
What did you do?
♥
I scowled at the rain outside, and did several loads of laundry, worked with a potty training toddler, cleaned my bathrooms, and am making supper as we speak. :) What color are you painting your laundry room?
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ sounds like a full day! Good luck with the potty training! :)
ReplyDeleteThe laundry room is going to be grey, just like my bedrooom. :)
I have a grey bathroom, and I like it alot. It's a neutral color you can add any color to accent it ya know? Yeah, potty training is not my favorite part of mothering. :p
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen has always been grey and white and I haven't tired of it all these years! And I love my bedroom color. It is a nice neutral...very peaceful.
ReplyDeleteOh BOOOOO to those men who smoked and didn't clear up after themselves!!
ReplyDelete:-(
No yummy cookies for them! Hah!
Yes please, may we see your new hairdo next week! Hoorah! take care
x
Old Kitty ~ ha..you're right! I do bake cookies for work men that are here! But not today...and I was even baking! ha.
ReplyDeleteYes...picture of short hair will be coming...as soon as I figure out how to style it. lol....
Mmmm those pecan bars look really good!
ReplyDeleteMy wednesday is just getting started... driving out to a movie set soon to do on site audio postproduction!
Like always a busy day Betsy:) We are garnish with some Christmas things and the kids are garnish the Tree (please dont look the living)lol they take all from the boxes look all and said you bought this two years ago, anyway hope they finish today,Im laundry and have to iron and hope to finis a post to the night I think you will love the recipe, :)
ReplyDeletelove your pine whreath I put mine too, but yours look nice:)
ReplyDeleteI have a ? Betsy. Do you plan a monthly or weekly menu, or do you just decide what's for dinner every day. You seem to have such a nice variety, and sometimes I wish I lived next door so I could show up for supper. :)
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ I have a pile of clothes to iron! ha. Please come and do mine! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your new recipe...all of your posts are wonderful!
Rebecca ~ No, I'm not that organized. ha. What I do is buy my meat every two weeks and have that stocked up so I can cook whatever I'm in the mood for or whatever fits the schedule. I buy in bulk at Sams club and buy whatever is on clearance. Then weekly I buy a variety of salad stuff, veggies, etc and rotate that in to fit the entree. And we eat really simply...nothing that takes a lot of time to prepare. I'm not a casserole or recipe person....I really prefer a grilled piece of meat paired with a salad...simple and easy.
ReplyDeleteNow, yes please move in next door! Wouldn't that be fun! I would love that. :)
What did I do today, I shed tears(can you say sobbed)when I read No.7.
ReplyDeleteI know it is for a wonderful cause, but I love your long hair. Yes, I know it will grow back.
Locks of Love, great program. You should be very happy with your accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteChristine ~ well, you know all about accomplishments, don't you, dear? It feels great to reach a goal! :)
ReplyDeleteRe #3: JERKS!
ReplyDeleteRe #7: Can't wait to see this!
i love popping into your wednesdays - so comforting.
ReplyDeletelove the new (to me) header - this month's moon knocked me off my feet especially on sunday around 6 pm when we were driving east from a concert - it was huge and brilliant gold and there i was without my camera! that will teach me to leave the house without my camera (something i rarely do!)
Silver ~ yeah, the smell of cigarettes...can you imagine? ha......ducks...
ReplyDeletesee the look the kitty is giving you...its the same one i am giving wondering if you are sharing the cookies or not...smiles.
ReplyDeleteha...you know I'll always share cookies with you, Brian. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, you know darned well I'd never insult you by lighting one in or near your house.
ReplyDeleteYes, Silver...I knew that. :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy if I have a littel time I can iron for you (lol) to begin I need a coffe in all the afternoon I dont eat and drink nothing:)
ReplyDeleteWhe you cot your hair you will look lovely cause you are:)

ReplyDeleteand I forgot to tell you that I was also taking some apricots from the tree because I'm making jam, remember that it's summer so are quickly ripen, I would send some jam to you:)
Gloria's right. When a painting is beautiful enough, it isn't very important what the frame looks like.
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ an apricot tree? Oh that sounds wonderful! Make sure you take pictures of your jam! Apricot and peach are my favorite jams.
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ oh, you're so clever. :)
ReplyDeleteIn others words, you always will be beauty betsy:))
ReplyDeleteI will take some pictures maybe tomorrow here is a little late.
Love your Wednesdays. What a packed day!! Love the pictures, and the feeling of following you around your house.
ReplyDeleteToday was such a good day for me. Went with my daughter Julie, to see our grandson Jon in his Christmas Program at school, the out to Penera Bread for a BBQ Chicken salad and warm bread, hot coffee. Talking for a couple hours...Yikes...time to pick up the kids.
Silver is a nice poet Betsy didn't?:)))
ReplyDeleteI taught a class of 25 7-year olds all day long.....am tired! We are making plans for some much needed home improvement projects ourselves!
ReplyDeleteFarmchick ~ oh yeah, that would wear me out!
ReplyDeleteWe've done a list of home improvement stuff in the last month...all much needed and very over due. ha. Fun, though...love that kind of stuff!
Go put your feet up...have some one bring you tea. :)
Just read your list and you were one busy girl!!!
ReplyDeleteIckful that you had to deal with the workmen who were so rude.
When people are Inconsiderate inside someone's home like that, its so very maddening.
Blessings to you and yours!
In Him,
Grace
Grace ~ Ickful? lol....I love that! hahaha.
ReplyDeleteNo ding, dong or creek
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should make the door speak
Like one of those talking motion censor things
I'm sure that would delight with all it's rings...haha
Sounds like you got the low diddum workers this time
You'd think they'd go smoke up outside on their dime
Ahhh the slow, half "you know" workers
Just as annoy as scary "Of" lurkers...haha
Baked and enjoyed Betsy's Chocolate Cake for my 50th birthday - it was the "spoonful of sugar"...
ReplyDeleteMary Lynn
Pat ~ they reminded me of the ones at your work.
ReplyDeleteIt took three to make a screwdriver work!
lol....
Aw, Happy 50th MaryLynn! Wow...we are close in age!
ReplyDeleteIf you baked it today, it will taste even better tomorrow! Yum.
I baked Monster and Peanut Butter Cup cookies and made White Chocolate Cranberry Biscotti, did the laundry and made a run to the thrift store for my son. Those Pecan Bars sure look yummy!:)
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks so pretty peaking through your arched doorway!
ReplyDeletehahahaha I guess two to put in a screw
ReplyDeleteWasn't quite as bad as the ones that visited you
Pat ~ oh dear...mine really were bad
ReplyDeletebut we told their boss...their hydes will be had! ha.
We needed those ink stamps here

I always love these little snippets from your everyday life.
ReplyDeleteI like the new door, and your Christmas tree! And now I have a hankering for some cream-filled truffles. :0
Yuji ~ if you just lived closer, I'd share the truffles. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother busy day for you! I LOVE #1 & #13 the best! FOOOD! ha
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day (I LOVE Godivas btw - they're the only chocolate I'll eat). I dusted and vacuumed my house today, messed up my blog and had a lovely massage.
ReplyDeleteManuela
Reading this makes me think that we need some new insulation up in our attic. I was just wondering if they took away what was there before or just layered the new insulation on top?
ReplyDeleteYour days are always so busy and I seem to do less than that in a week.
It is so nice for you to share so much with us each week. Thank you.
God bless.
Yummers on the cookies and the bars...need my address? Just saying...!! Ha!!
ReplyDeleteLove your Wed. montages
Hugs
SueAnn

ReplyDeleteThat kitten is so cute.;)
xoxo
Betsy, you always make me feel like such a slacker with all you can get done in a day!! LOL!! Your new front door is lovely; you may need a little string of jinglebells on it for sound! LOL! I do hate it when workers leave their mess along with their stinky smoke smells!! Maybe I'll try to be more like you today and get more done!! ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteWhat did I do? : Went shopping (aghhrr) - I never seem to do anything else these days!
