Marmalade And The Other Litter

  1. Remember the mother cat with the kittens that has stopped by to eat before? Well, she comes and occasionally brings her kittens, too. Sometimes there are only five. This time only three. Marmalade was on the back porch and immediately looked inside to see if I knew we had company.
  2. He was very curious and watched them eat, inching closer and closer until he could sniff them as they ate. He was so cute to watch with them!
  3. That little grey one is still looking pretty sweet!
  4. Marmalade finally caught my eye. :) I had to stand back in the shadows of the room or the kittens would run!
  5. This little one is cute! The dad has that white nose stripe. I didn't see Mustache's twin this time, although he has been up to eat all by himself before.
After they ate and were leaving, Marmalade tried to play with them. He rolled in the grass and playfully pounced all around them. He is still a kitten himself, after all. But they just looked at him like he was silly. :)
They all slipped through the fence and disappeared.
These new little ones will need homes before it gets too cold. I can't guarantee when they will be here but if you live close and let me know you are interested, maybe we can work something out. Just keep in mind that they are wild, never been touched and mom will be watching. ha.

  1. Do you have a plan for catching them? If you ever plan to grab a wild kitten with your hands, wear gloves. Yes, I do speak from experience. :)

  2. hahaha you rhyming in your "doing" for the day
Oh that was such fun I must say
Marmalade seemed to be having a ball checking them all out
Glad no hissing and spitting came about
Orlin would do it if they just flinched the wrong way
He lives to cause cats dismay

  4. Pat ~ I wondered if he would his or attack
but he was just sweet and shared his snack.
    Then acted all goofy
    and they were aloof-y.

  5. You just used the word "aloof-y?"
    Not just Marmalade who's goofy!

  12. Sounds as if Marmalade knows that mother Betsy is in charge. I wish I could take the gray one; I know two little men and a pint-sized little lady who would love to have a kitten!

  20. I love the top right hand picture. Marmalade's expression is so funny. He looks like he is saying "WHAT are you doing eating out of my bowl?" :)

  23. So many wishes for catching the kittens and so little time. I was just wondering if you have contacted the local Humane Society about how one would go about catching them? We can only hope that all goes well, but then again we know that it is not always the case. But since the mother cat survives each winter then maybe they do have a barn to stay in.

Your four have hit the jackpot and they know it. The little cuties are just as sweet as their adopted mommy. They share their food and even the love. You must be so proud to have accomplished so much with them during these months. They were even born at a good time. Totally hit the jackpot!!!

    God bless.

  28. Gloria ~ I know, I'm like that, too! Once this litter of four stayed on our porch, I didn't want to split them up. Eight puppies...how sweet!

By the way...I always start singing Laura Branigan's song Gloria when I see you in my comments section! :) Do you know that song...from the 80's?

  29. Very curious - Harry and Alex trading spots.
    The answer to this puzzle can be found on page 59 {just kidding}
Wonder if you will ever find out why.

  34. They are such beautiful cats!

A local vet in my area would take in feral cats who just gave birth and he'd fix the Mom for free and then put the kittens up for adoption when they were weaned. That is how we adopted one of our cats -- he was the smartest cat we ever had!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Gosh, it's getting to feline plague proportions in your area!! All cute though.

    ReplyDelete
  36. DeanO ~ please adopt them all. I have four and that is plenty. ha.

I'm starting to be a bit concerned for them, with winter coming soon.

  39. This so made me smile - little fluffy things are so adorable - and I love Marmalade's reaction to them. Your porch does look like a cat refuge though!
