A Skunk and Raccoon Mirage

I took a quick glance outside my kitchen window today at the
sleet and rain. I thought I saw a couple of animals taking shelter
under the neighbor's car. A skunk and a raccoon!? Really?
well, no maybe that isn't a skunk after all... and this isn't a raccoon...
just a reflection of the wheels in the water!

  1. Lol, it certainly looks like both of those, isn't it funny how our eyes play tricks on us :)
We are getting the blowing rain right now !

  2. Oh how funny!!! I was wondering too...what kind of animals those were. Aren't we funny folks sometimes?! Thanks for the grins and sharing - you brightened my day. We have been iced in today and maybe for the next few days. As long as I don't lose power, I can be happy right here in my favorite chair. =)

  10. Mel~ I've seen both skunks and raccoons in our backyard, so it wasn't too far fetched for me to think they were there this time! :)

  11. The older I get, the more my eyes play tricks on me. Of course, I'm not implying that your eyes are getting old, I just... ummm...

    Oh, never mind.

  12. Silver ~ you mean it's age? lol...here I was blaming it on weather, distance and...oh well, I guess you're right! ha. I suppose when I'm as ancient as you I won't see the car at all. (ducks)

  13. Nahhhh, it's not age. You're ageless. At least, that's what all the photos of you that I've seen tell me!

  15. Every time we drive down the dirt road on the way home to our subdivision at night, there is a mailbox that I think is a deer. Still after over two years I can freak myself out.

  19. Last week I saw what appeared to be a wild boar in the yard...you don't think it's our age do you? LOL! Your post cracked me up!

  20. You capture well what occurs to us all: seeing things thanks to our keen powers of observation and imagination. I am always "seeing things" on my walks.

  21. Anita ~ you're the second person to mention my age, so it must be true! LOL! Oh dear!

Wild boar? Now that is even funnier!

  22. Kayren ~ I do that with mail boxes all the time on our back country roads. Of course, we always look for deer in the road when we are driving anyway, so it's just an immediate reaction.

  27. Well I sure would not have been surprised our here at all! Both get into my garage and under my desk all the time. The dog, well she sure doesn't like it and the Cat tried to 'get' a skunk last year. Stopped her within a second of getting her and Me! haha...
