Love your post! Yummy cake, my favorite is white, I know, not chocolate, that is my second favorite! I love that Erma, she always made me laugh! Thanks for sharing this with us!~
My mother in law had white carpet in her living room. Her three sons called it the museum and often said that all that was missing were the red velvet ropes to keep them out. They constantly teased her.I give her credit, somehow the carpet survived for years and so did the mom/kids relationship. A win, win for all!
Anita ~ I grew up in a house with a living room like that. We weren't allowed to sit on the furniture! I much more prefer 'living' in all the rooms of our house...boys and all! LOL!
Love the Erma Bombeck quote. I remember when my daughter bought white furniture, and then had four kids.... It didn't stay white, and was replaced with dark, dark green.
The cupcake looks so good and if I ate them while sitting on a white couch with a white carpet then no one would notice the crumbs. Okay, I would be afraid to eat anything under those circumstances. But one can dream.
Oh I love Erma!!! I use to have a clipping from the newspaper about raising 3 children written by Erma. I have misplaced it and can't find it on the internet....have you ever read it? It is priceless....1st child has everything boiled and sterilized, 2nd child get paci wiped off, 3rd drinks from water hose, etc, etc, It is so funny and I could kick myself for losing it!
nanny ~ I have not read that...sounds really good! I can relate to that...everything was perfect for Taylor. Then came the triplets, who swapped bottles and ate off the floor. ha.
Love all the images, especially the white monogram...I have a white picket fence( in need of a good painting)very similar to that around my garden.. English Ivy climbing growing all over it, too :)...
Okay, I know just about EVERYONE said something nice about the picket fence and the piano, but I just can't help myself . . . I LOVE THOSE PICTURES! <3 Especially the piano because I play, and my piano keys are starting to look more and more like the one in the picture because it's VERY old and lots of little kids like to "bang bang bang" on it. :( But anyways, I like your blog . . . a LOT!:)
Chasity ~ oh, it's fine...the piano keys are my favorite, too! ;) I play...but haven't in quite a while as life kinda got in the way! Thanks so much for the visit! :)

ReplyDeletesomeday i want a white picket fence...and the type of house it looks best around.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are dreamy...I love white. I am not brave enough to have a white comfy sofa...maybe one day.
ReplyDeleteHolly ~ white sofa? No, not me either...in fact, no fabric at all for my five men. We went to leather! ha.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images (especially the cak!) and the quote made me laugh out loud. Why do people have white carpets??
ReplyDeleteTrue that. My carpet is a nice grey, well sort of brownish well worn stained grey Wish I could make cupcakes like that!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, did you take all of these photos? I love them...in particular the fence and sheep! Well done!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Gotta love Erma too.
ReplyDeleteThe linen hanky is lovely and the coconut cupcake looks scrumptious!

I have some hankies a bit like that top one - seems sort of a shame that hankies have gone out of fashion
