The English Muffin

Here is my drawing for Mr. Toast's Creative Tuesday.
The theme this time is 'nook'. I immediately thought of
all those nooks and crannies in English Muffins...you know,
all those little holes and crevices to hold the melted butter
and jam!? I first sketched in pencil, made final lines
in black ink and then finished with colored pencils.
I tried making a distorted reflection in the toaster.
Not really sure that turned out, but once I
started, there was no turning back! :)
You should consider joining in the fun!
It is not a weekly commitment...only twice monthly!
If you like to draw or doodle, or if you want to

Tuesday, just click right HERE.

  2. Betsy, you are very good. I love this little domestic scene. You've made me remember how hungry I am. I need to get up and fix myself some breakfast.

  3. aren't you a talented artist! I love pen and ink. I bought water color pencils a while back but haven't really gotten the hang of them. I want to take up art again but I don't know when I'll find time. Work gets in the way.

  16. Betsy, I'm a new reader and am in love with your little animated tea cup. Did you create it yourself?

  17. Peppermint PhD ~ Hi..thank you! No, I didn't create it. I got it off of one of those free animated clip art sites back in 2008 when I started my blog.

  22. Love the reflections in the toaster!! Love the way butter and jelly oozes into those little holes.

I'm thinking of joining your group, it sounds like fun.

Without a computer over the weekend, had to buy a new screen. It's bigger than my old one, and I'm loving it.

  26. Oh dear, well, as you know, my computer was out for a while so am only now getting to everyone's artwork to actually comment. Yes, I am also doing the montage tonight. I did see this piece earlier in fact and it is so wonderful. I love it. Very cozy and yummy even. English muffins, toast, eggs--what is there not to love here? Again, you did an excellent job capturing all that detail. Persistence!--you have a lot of that I am gathering, and your art work shows all the better for it. Thank you so much Betsy for doing this!

  30. One of my favorite breakfasts is an English muffin with blackberry jam with a nice tea to drink with it. Great interpretation of "Nook."
