Happy Spring!

It's officially here!
This squirrel in my crab apple tree may not be feeling it yet,
but there are signs!  A few tiny buds on the trees, a couple
of inches of tulip tips sprouting from the ground, lighter
evenings, and the robins and mourning doves have returned!
Those lighter evenings are great, aren't they?
But the mornings sure have been brutal!
I'm having some fasting blood work done tomorrow.
Not eating breakfast doesn't bother me at all.
But no coffee?  What???  lol.

    What fun

    Spring has sprung
    Daylight savings is still dung
    Hate the morning crap
    Blow it off the map
    No coffee for you
    Whatever will you do
    Instantly drink a pot
After your blood does clot? lol

  2. Whoever wakes in England sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough 5
    In England—now!

  3. Not Spring here until 20th, Monday, and guess what the weather is doing? . . . raining . . lol
Yes, the lighter evenings are really great and I look forward to them . . feel so much better when I am outdoors in the nice warmth of the sun doing jobs and 'pottering' ~ oops maybe I should have said puttering . . lol

I can work on the tree bench and other on going projects and there is a lot of shredding of pruned branches to do.

'Fasting Blood Work!" ? . . . not sure what that is but good luck with it. Sounds like you are visiting Dracular's Castle . . lol

    You . . . no coffee??? ~ Jeepers! . . lol

    1. The 20th is the first day of spring here, too!

This is blood work taken after you fast. (not eating) to get proper levels of cholesterol, etc without food and blood sugar affecting the numbers.

  5. Yes, I'm looking forward to warmer days and staying outside a little later.
I wouldn't want to give up drinking tea, I've indulged in it's potion far too may years, to give it up at this stage ;)
Good luck with your blood work, and then afterwards...more coffee !
    ~hugs,

  7. I must say, I'm finally ready for spring. We've been seeing signs of it very early and then we had a hard freeze last week, which did a number on a few plants and trees that had budded out. I had blood work done about a month ago. My numbers weren't so good. I knew that my diet for the last year and a half was not good, but I didn't expect to get such numbers. I've finally settled on a lifestyle change and the numbers are coming down. I'm stoked about that. The diet-lifestyle....low-fat plant based and exercise. No more Paleo, no more meat or dairy. I guess I'm one of those that just can't eat the typical Western diet. It's ok. I like what I eat and don't feel deprived. And a bonus....I've lost 8 lbs so far. That alone is a miracle for me. Good luck tomorrow.

    1. That is awesome for you! I feel the same...found something that works for me (although mine is the exact opposite of yours...lots of lean meat, veggies and dairy!) . Everyone is different! If you don't feel deprived, you can make it a lifestyle and not think of it as a diet. Love that.

    1. I think that bothers a lot of people! I don't eat until around 9:00 anyway, so that part wasn't a big deal for me. I missed the coffee, though!

  13. My doctor allows me to have black coffee but I like cream in mine so I just wait. It gives me something to look forward to when the lab work is done.

  19. We've noticed a definite increase in the squirrels already, I heat them running across the roof each morning 😁
