Aw, she's so beautiful. It's very dark and rainy here today.
It's very warm! But the rain is supposed to freeze by the weekend.
Normally there are no birds around my street, too many killer cats about. I know Dinky isn't one of the because she sits on the picnic table and just ignores them. She is too fat and idle to bother. Why should she, she has all the tuna, chicken, ham and other scraps from me that she wants! But this winter I have see a lot of strange birds I have never seen before, but I cant identify them because I've never bothered to learn about the different models! Ha!
I would take a guess that she is a Cardinal? No? Very pretty all the same.
I have some real bird hunters here. I watched their mother Velvet teach them as kittens and they are good at it! Can't believe we have any birds here at all, but I've hung all the feeders higher than the cats can leap, so that helps.Yes, she's a cardinal. Put your glasses on and read the title! hahaha.... :)
I always go straight to the pictures, I never think to read the titles. Silly aren't I?
Yes...but I knew that already! ha.
Miss Cardinal? What happened to Mrs. Cardinal? Is this another one, or did Mrs. C. get a divorce?
I think this is their daughter. :)
Nice that they're keeping their visits in the family, you might say.
Dad fed that little baby girl all summer, even when she was as big as he was. haha. She might be a bit spoiled!
Beautiful delicate colours. Not so brash and handsome as Mr but lovely in her own way don't you think?
Right...subtle and gorgeous in her own way. Kinda like the girl next door type of beauty. :)
I wonder if you would ever find a dress that combined that soft snuffy yellow with the coral of her crest?
Hmm...I don't know! Might be easier to find a scarf in one color to put with a dress of the other! Sounds beautiful!
It does sound rather nice. And I suspect you're right.
Well, we'll have to do a little shopping, I think!
Not sure they are really my colours but you go for it.
So funny you mention that...I don't look good in yellow or peach...they make melook like I have the flu. haha.
Such pretty colors! =)
She is beautiful in those soft colors! She was hungry, too!
Beautiful bird ~ wish we had them here . . . :)
I'd like to know what kinds of birds you have there. I know the English Robin, of course. And you have Black Birds (I know that from the ones baked in a pie...lol) But that is it! You should start a post series on your blog. :)
We have a number of lbjs!
Good idea . . . amongst the most interesting varieties we have are blue tits and great tits . . . quite small and very lively birds . . :)
Little brown jobs. Have you never read The Big Year? All about the biggest bird watching challenge.
Can't say that I have...or even heard of it! Sounds like a book I might enjoy!
It's about crazy bonkers US bird watchers trying to spot every single US species including all the virtually indistinguishable lbjs inside one calendar year. There is also a movie. I really enjoyed it despite not knowing many of the birds. Costs. Fortune to crisps cross the country to be in the right state at the right time to spot each bird.
laughing at your 'crisps'. Your hands just type that without you knowing, don't they? haha.
Ok my iPad won't let me reply any more! So time to turn the light out. Goodnight.
We do love our birds, eh Betsy?Great shot...Rain stopped there? It was miserable here...Cheers!Linda :o)
still raining....supposed to rain tomorrow, too, and then turn to ice!
She looks awfully sweet. Bless her heart!
She certainly knows where to come for food! :)
She's a beauty.I've noticed since the weather has warmed the Cardinals are back 😁What a neat shot!Jo
Do your cardinals disappear when it's cold? Ours stay all winter....they are one of the faithful ones!
She's a pretty little thing! We had a short period o sunshine this afternoon which made everyone happy!
Well, lucky you! I was hoping for clear skies tonight with the full moon but there is no way...the clouds are thick!
I love her look... soft and pretty. She's a lovely complement to the male.
She is pretty....she almost glows in this photo! So sweet!
Hi Betsy - subtly beautiful and so important to life .. gorgeous photo ... cheers Hilary
Yes, she's a beauty! :)
She's so cute and the color is so wonderful!!!Love
Yeah, I loved the color and how soft the whole thing was.
She's soooooo beautiful! Hate the severe cold for them. blessings ~ tanna
Makes you wonder why they don't all fly south, doesn't it? But they could if they wanted to, so I guess they like it here during the winter!
Standing out in the greyHopefully plenty of bird seed came her way
More than she could wanthere during her seed hunt!
She is beautiful and a wonderful bright spot in your day.I wish I could capture the birds that flit around my Manzanita tree. they are just too fast and my window is to "dirty".
I love your moon header - beautiful!
Hi Betsy! That is a beautiful shot!! So sorry to hear you have got a cold. Yikes! And these viruses are so contagious there is nothing to do. Just to be in the same room makes you to get one :-( wishing you to get fit soon! We are back. And I miss my country already. I walked A LOT abt 10km daily in a freezing cold and it was just what I needed to recover my mental health ... haha. It is so nice to walk and not to have to worry about the people that are in the street. Here in Belgium, since all those attacks here, and in France and in Germany you cannot be relax to walk in the street, not to mention to shop in a mall. In my country you do not think like that and it is so nice!!! :-) anyways, I am going to read your posts I missed :-)
I'm serving coffee! Stay and chat! And no awards, please! Your comments are my awards!
