Back Home

Me, today.  Home again and jumping back into the routine.
The Mister did a great job holding down the fort!  He even
did laundry (which is usually forbidden. ha.).  I got home
around 11:30 last night and the house was quiet and clean,
boys tucked into bed and the kitties laying around purring.
Home, sweet, home!
This morning, the boys peeked in our bedroom and when they
saw me sitting in bed drinking coffee, they were so cute!
Their eyes got big and they came over and initiated
giving me a kiss.  Aw.  So good for my heart!
I can ask for a kiss, but the rare times they
do it without prompting are just the best!

You know how I love clouds...had to take a few pictures
from up in the sky!

This is my niece and her daughter who I went to visit.
Her husband is a musician and on tour in Europe and with
a second baby on the way, she needed someone there to help
out.  I was more than happy to go and we had so much fun!
We did some running around, ate out, shopped and even had
a therapeutic massage on our necks and backs, one at a time,
and we took turns holding that beautiful little one!
We stayed up late chatting....so good for both of us!

The boys' teacher sent me this photo of Spencer while I was
gone.  He was doing a craft on a field trip.  I love the light,
the softness and the look of concentration on his face!

And here is Alex today, all smiles when he came home to
find me still here! hahaha...he has serious anxiety
when I'm gone or even look like I might go somewhere,
(like fixing my hair or putting on shoes).  I guess he
staged a hunger strike while I was gone until pizza
was served the third day and he couldn't resist. lol...

Well, I need to catch up with all of you!
Hope you had a great week.
I'll be around to say hello over the next day or two.
I have a studio full of etsy orders that I need to get
into the mail!  I've hit the ground running!
It's good to be home, but it was good to get away, too!

  1. You were missed sweet lady, I checked your Instagram updates, and knew you were having a wonderful visit with your dear family.
I'm glad 'the men' made it through without incidence :)
    Hugs,

    1. The men did great! The Mister is very hands-on, so I know he can handle it. I just had to give some instruction to things I always do, like make lunches...and when to water my plants. haha.
Thanks for thinking of me...had a great time!

  2. I'm so glad you took the time to have some "Me" time.
Your Darling Mister was a real Champ too.
I love the precious memories made by your sons greeting...nothing like a kiss just because.
Happy to have you home too.

    1. I know...those kisses were the best and so rare! I'll never forget that moment. haha.
I've been gone before when they were younger and it broke my heart when they didn't really
notice I was back! This was much better!

  3. Lovely to see you back in the driving seat. You were sorely missed by all (I think). Glad you had a great time. It's nice to have a break, but even nicer when you return home, right?

  4. Times like that are good for the soul and the memories last a lifetime ❤ Sweet photo of the girls.
And the boys do look happy to have you home.
I also like the photo of your insulators with the lights. I've been trying to think of something different to do with mine. They need a good cleaning from being out in the birdbath first.

  9. Welcome back, Betsy! Sounds like that trip was just what you needed. Glad that everything went well at home while you were away; that must have been a bit of a relief. And maybe that means that you can get away again sometime, though I'm sure The Mister will not want you to go away anytime too soon. :) Though so sweet to come back and feel the love from the boys!

  12. Welcome home! How sweet that the boys noticed - aw! I bet it made your heart glad. And kisses, too!
So nice that you could visit E and Z. They look just beautiful. What a huge help to them.

    2. Yes! I swear by them but have not had one in a very long time. I used to go somewhat regularly and it helped with a number of issues. Including my sanity! Hope you find a place soon.

    3. I was telling her about my chronic stiff neck and she said I should go weekly for 4-6 weeks and I'd see a huge improvement!

      Delete
    4. Oh you would. Absolutely. I could not afford that but even once a month kept tbings at bay for me. And if you could initially go every week you could probably maintain it every other week or so. Very important for stress levels and I bet it would also help your teeth grinding/jaw tension. To say nothing of the fact that it's time just for you!

    5. Yeah, that's true! This wasn't pricey at all. 10 minutes for $12. E did 20 minutes for $25. And it was just in a cute little store full of wind chimes, candles, Buddahs and a koi pond in the middle! I got a new retainer from my orthodontist that has ended my teeth grinding! Such a blessing to wake up with a loose jaw. haha. yay!

  18. I hear you there - it is nice to get away but it is nice to be back home too ... Yes slowly getting to the routine. Thankfully S has a really nice teacher this year, she is Canadian and she seem to be really nice, so that makes a huge difference! The morning wakes up at 5.40 are tough (and they will always be I think ... haha) and so thankful for coffee ;-) have a nice 'getting back to the routine' time :-)
