Me, today. Home again and jumping back into the routine.
The Mister did a great job holding down the fort! He even
did laundry (which is usually forbidden. ha.). I got home
around 11:30 last night and the house was quiet and clean,
boys tucked into bed and the kitties laying around purring.
Home, sweet, home!
This morning, the boys peeked in our bedroom and when they
saw me sitting in bed drinking coffee, they were so cute!
Their eyes got big and they came over and initiated
giving me a kiss. Aw. So good for my heart!
I can ask for a kiss, but the rare times they
do it without prompting are just the best!
You know how I love clouds...had to take a few pictures
from up in the sky!
This is my niece and her daughter who I went to visit.
Her husband is a musician and on tour in Europe and with
a second baby on the way, she needed someone there to help
out. I was more than happy to go and we had so much fun!
We did some running around, ate out, shopped and even had
a therapeutic massage on our necks and backs, one at a time,
and we took turns holding that beautiful little one!
We stayed up late chatting....so good for both of us!
The boys' teacher sent me this photo of Spencer while I was
gone. He was doing a craft on a field trip. I love the light,
the softness and the look of concentration on his face!
And here is Alex today, all smiles when he came home to
find me still here! hahaha...he has serious anxiety
when I'm gone or even look like I might go somewhere,
(like fixing my hair or putting on shoes). I guess he
staged a hunger strike while I was gone until pizza
was served the third day and he couldn't resist. lol...
Well, I need to catch up with all of you!
Hope you had a great week.
I'll be around to say hello over the next day or two.
I have a studio full of etsy orders that I need to get
into the mail! I've hit the ground running!
It's good to be home, but it was good to get away, too!
♥
You were missed sweet lady, I checked your Instagram updates, and knew you were having a wonderful visit with your dear family.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad 'the men' made it through without incidence :)
Hugs,
~Jo
Make that incident :)
DeleteJo
The men did great! The Mister is very hands-on, so I know he can handle it. I just had to give some instruction to things I always do, like make lunches...and when to water my plants. haha.
DeleteThanks for thinking of me...had a great time!
I'm so glad you took the time to have some "Me" time.
ReplyDeleteYour Darling Mister was a real Champ too.
I love the precious memories made by your sons greeting...nothing like a kiss just because.
Happy to have you home too.
I know...those kisses were the best and so rare! I'll never forget that moment. haha.
DeleteI've been gone before when they were younger and it broke my heart when they didn't really
notice I was back! This was much better!
Lovely to see you back in the driving seat. You were sorely missed by all (I think). Glad you had a great time. It's nice to have a break, but even nicer when you return home, right?
ReplyDeleteYes...nothing like getting away...and nothing like coming home. haha.
DeleteTimes like that are good for the soul and the memories last a lifetime ❤ Sweet photo of the girls.
ReplyDeleteAnd the boys do look happy to have you home.
I also like the photo of your insulators with the lights. I've been trying to think of something different to do with mine. They need a good cleaning from being out in the birdbath first.
Can't wait to hear what you end up doing with them! Take a picture! :)
DeleteOops...accidentally posted my comment in the wrong place, so reposted ☺
DeleteAw! Sounds like you had some great R&R while helping your niece out. And it's just wonderful to know you've been missed, isn't it. Glad you made it safely home. I'm back in Colorafo for the week....my son-in-law is graduating from nursing school.
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful! I know you'll enjoy that! Congratulations to him!
DeleteSo glad to you able to get away and provide some much needed help to your niece! I adore that smile on Alex's face.
ReplyDeleteI know...Alex was SO happy I was still here when he got off the bus this afternoon. Aw.
DeleteGreat to see you back, Betsy and so pleased you enjoyed being with the girls . .. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ed. I see your email...just haven't had a chance to answer yet. :)
DeleteLove the photos . . . four eyes . . . lol
DeleteYou all look lovely . . . especially the one from Ohio . . :)
Do sunglasses make you 'four eyes'? lol.... I think I look like a bug. ha.
DeleteA bug . . . haha.
DeleteSome bug . . . cant see your big brown eyes . . :)
Welcome home kisses...it doesn't get much better than that! I'm so glad you had a good trip.
ReplyDeleteI know you understand. :) It's the little things....
DeleteWelcome back, Betsy! Sounds like that trip was just what you needed. Glad that everything went well at home while you were away; that must have been a bit of a relief. And maybe that means that you can get away again sometime, though I'm sure The Mister will not want you to go away anytime too soon. :) Though so sweet to come back and feel the love from the boys!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you...I switched planes in Chicago going and coming! :)
DeleteIf I had to travel on business on either day, I would have met you in the airport. Maybe you'll see more of Chicago some other time.
DeleteYes, that would be so fun! :)
DeleteWelcome back! I'm glad you had this enjoyable getaway, and I love that the boys were so happy to see you again. It's nice to be missed.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is nice....good to get away and good to be missed! The Mister was more than glad to give me back my chores....he even had a business event tonight and disappeared entirely today. hahaha....
DeleteI am glad you are back too!! Your nieces are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAren't they? So lovely!
DeleteWelcome home! How sweet that the boys noticed - aw! I bet it made your heart glad. And kisses, too!
ReplyDeleteSo nice that you could visit E and Z. They look just beautiful. What a huge help to them.
Massages... ahhhhh.
Love the photo of Spencer and Alex too. Capturing different moods... lovely.
I bet the kitties missed you, too!
Suzie that massage was so cool....I need to find a healing massage place around here.
DeleteYes! I swear by them but have not had one in a very long time. I used to go somewhat regularly and it helped with a number of issues. Including my sanity! Hope you find a place soon.
DeleteI was telling her about my chronic stiff neck and she said I should go weekly for 4-6 weeks and I'd see a huge improvement!
DeleteOh you would. Absolutely. I could not afford that but even once a month kept tbings at bay for me. And if you could initially go every week you could probably maintain it every other week or so. Very important for stress levels and I bet it would also help your teeth grinding/jaw tension. To say nothing of the fact that it's time just for you!
DeleteYeah, that's true! This wasn't pricey at all. 10 minutes for $12. E did 20 minutes for $25. And it was just in a cute little store full of wind chimes, candles, Buddahs and a koi pond in the middle! I got a new retainer from my orthodontist that has ended my teeth grinding! Such a blessing to wake up with a loose jaw. haha. yay!
DeleteOh, that's great news. Glad that is one health thing checked off your list!
DeleteBetsy, welcome back!! I'm sure you've had a great time with your niece.
ReplyDeleteLove the time spending with your sons.
Have a nice day
Thanks, Manu....I had a really great time! Can't wait to go back.
DeleteWelcome back Betsy - sounds you had a great time .. and I love the report back! Fantastic about the boys giving you a return kiss ... but how wonderful The Mister held the fort in more ways than one apparently ... that's great news. Wonderful photos ... and all the very best to your niece and her family and that newbie on its way ...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful time of memories ... they've cheered our hearts too - cheers Hilary
The boys' reaction meant so much to me.....aw...that was a first, really. Loved it.
DeleteOh how sweet of the boys to peek in and see if you were still there, precious memories! That's really nice that the teachers can send you pictures of what the boys are doing with their day, the field trip place looked interesting. Glad you had a nice visit with your niece.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they hadn't seen me yet since I got in so late. They were really surprised to see me there!
DeleteWow, the week sure flew by
ReplyDeleteHome and can give a relaxing sigh
Knowing you were missed is nice too
But good to have fun away from ones zoo
Now the catch up starts
Is the fridge bare so you have to go fill grocery carts? lol
I filled the cart alright
Deleteit really was a funny sight.
Couldn't balance one more thing
on the mountain of food that brought a cha-ching!
lol.
Welcome home Betsy! Aw how sweet the reaction of your boys, it made me feel so good and I can only imagine how happy it made you to feel!!! Alexes happy smile is priceless!! Your niece has a beautiful baby girl and I am happy that you girls had a great time together! :-))
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's good to be home and I'm getting back into the swing of things. How are you doing? Back into the school routine?
DeleteI hear you there - it is nice to get away but it is nice to be back home too ... Yes slowly getting to the routine. Thankfully S has a really nice teacher this year, she is Canadian and she seem to be really nice, so that makes a huge difference! The morning wakes up at 5.40 are tough (and they will always be I think ... haha) and so thankful for coffee ;-) have a nice 'getting back to the routine' time :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad he has a nice teacher...you're right saying it makes all the difference! Sounds like he's off to a good year! 5:40 is very early..before the sun! Ack!
DeleteWelcome back. You were missed!
