Bees have taken over my ivy topiary!
I put it outside for the summer and now it's a hub for
busy bees going in and out all day long.
Reminds me of sitting at an airport watching the
jets coming and going! ha.
I've made this topiary years and years ago...kind of sad to
let it go, but it's not like I can bring it inside when it gets
cold this fall! I wonder if the roots are sitting in honey.
When I water the ivy, I have to dump it and run. haha.

Wow! Word gets out at your place to all living... and buzzing... creatures!
ReplyDeleteI know...I had to laugh. And the cats just lay on the back porch and watch the comings
Deleteand goings!
We've had bee issues....be careful! The ones in the ground are nasty,
ReplyDeleteWe had a nest on the side of our house...right in my rose bushes!
DeleteI've never bothered them. ha.
Yikes! Yeah, I don't think you would want to bring them in. It would be so cool to gather your own honey, though.
ReplyDeleteI really know nothing about them....I'm assuming they hibernate? They're going to wish
Deletethey were under ground when it gets -15F here in February! lol....
Wow . . . you even attract the birds and the bees . . lol
ReplyDeleteIt does look a little like a busy airport . . . did you come back from Utah on one? . . lol
They look so purposeful on their arrivals and departures and I wonder if when they pass one another they might say, "Hello Honey!" . . . lol
I had some bumble bees this summer in my bird house.
lol...the birds? "Why do birds suddenly appear...." ♫♫♫
Delete"Close to you!" . . .another great Carpenters' song . . my fav is still "Yesterday Once More" though, even though you sang that nicely . . :)
DeleteYou really do have a zoo there!
ReplyDeleteI certainly do...even foxes! (If you count the family just on the other side of the our fence!) But
Deletethey're red...not silver. ha.
All creatures great and small
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it at your hall
Busy bees floating about
Of nests everyone better watch out
I especially like the tree frogs that have come.
DeleteThey are so cute with their rib-it and hum.
Wow - there are a lot of them. I'd leave them alone too!
ReplyDeleteYeah...they win! I'm sad about loosing my topiary, though! lol....
DeleteHi Betsy - I'd rather the bees won: we need them ... but I'm sure the ivy has lots of good offerings for them ...
ReplyDeleteFascinating to watch - but here's to you making another topiary! I had an ivy once - he was called 'Percy' .. he moved from London to Northamptonshire with me ... and I'm certain he is still there!! Cheers Hilary
Yes, I could make another one...but truth be told I have PLENTY of house plants.....it's kind of an addiction. :)
DeleteLove Disturbed and my favorite is this song "Sounds of silence". Always I cry when I heard :(
ReplyDeleteGarfunkle? :) Yes, that is a beautiful song...can really get stuck in your head!
DeleteI have a lot of bees this years but here is close to spring !!
ReplyDeleteBees are good! People are talking about them going extinct, but we sure have a lot of them!
DeleteWonder what kind of bees they are. We have bees in our porch roof and can't get anyone to exterminate them as honey bees are protected.
