I'm having one of those days.
You know the ones. You have a terrible head cold
and you feel like you're in a fog. Why do summer colds
feel even worse than those during the winter? I think it's
the humidity! You can't breath anyway and then you step
outside into the hot heavy air and you can scarcely get it
to flow through your lungs. lol...
I had to go to the grocery today...fridge was totally empty
(happens frequently with all these men living here) and it
was pouring rain. So I was a brick head that couldn't breath,
and wet legs from the knees down from the rain
spattering up off the parking lot. haha.
But we made it through alright.
But we made it through alright.
On the way home I had a sneezing fit. It's hard to drive while
sneezing, isn't it? Have you tried to keep your eyes open while
you sneeze? Impossible! Six huge sneezes while having to go to the
you sneeze? Impossible! Six huge sneezes while having to go to the
bathroom most certainly will make you pee your pants a spoonful.
What on earth? I thought only old and pregnant
women did that! hahaha. That's two groups of women...old,
and pregnant. Not pregnant old women. lol....although they
would have that problem for sure! ha.
I picked up a little something for myself at the grocery,
though. Sparkling peach wine? Don't mind if I do.
And yeah, I'm a sucker for a beautiful bottle like that.
Isn't it pretty? Tastes wonderful, too.
I'm feeling better already!
I'm feeling better already!
♥
Well aren't you a mess! Pretty wine will set you right!
ReplyDeletelol...yes! Yes, I am! Feeling better, though!
DeleteYou have my deepest sympathy, I'm just getting over a summer cold and, yes, they are worse than a winter one.
ReplyDeleteMessage on FB for you.
DeleteOk....I'll check it out this evening!
Deletelmao may need to carry a spare litter box around with you
ReplyDeleteIn case you do more than just achoo
Hard to drive while sneezing indeed
Cold suck no matter when they take seed
But the extra sweating and heat and crap
Sure makes it an extra blah of a lap
Enjoy the wine
As now all the men has food to dine
Hopefully that won't happen again
Deleteand I won't need a box or a package of Depends.
hahahaha. Food and wine we have now.
Nobody will freak out and have a cow. lol.
ROFLMBO!!!! Y'all crack me up!!
Deletelol well they have these
DeleteAll ready for the next sneeze?
http://www.stupid.com/emergency-underpants.html
If this becomes a recurring problem
DeleteI'll buy these for a way to solve them.
hahaha...ugh.
You poor dear . . . . pour us both a drink and let's clink our glasses . . . :) Hope you feel better soon . . . :)
ReplyDeleteclink! :)
DeleteI'm back for another drink but don't get me drunk . . . . haha
DeleteI hear you loud and clear, although mine was from allergies. I was at the Dr. the day after Memorial Day. I had asthmatic bronchitis and sinusitis and was on meds for two weeks. This has been one of my worst allergy seasons in years. Sneezing and driving? I did that a few months ago, hit a curb, and blew a tire. Welcome back to the world of driving after 13 years. lol. The wine sounds wonderful - have a glass for me since I can't. :-)
ReplyDeleteMarla
Ugh...poor you! My allergies have been so much better this year! But I switched to Flonase and can't believe the difference. Hope yours get better! And the sneezing and driving...goodness...can get dangerous! haha....
DeleteMmmmmmmm, Moscato! Delish! AND, so summery...I hope you feel better Betsy!
ReplyDeleteIt is delish! Yum. Hey, it's great to see you on here! :)
DeleteI miss you...we need to do lunch and catch up!
My boyfriend uses Flonase but it didn't help me, so my doc put me on Afrin. Along with the prednisone, the two combined worked wonders.
ReplyDeleteDangerous for sure. It was bright and sunny that day and I happened to look up at the sun and started sneezing right away. Have always had that reaction afterwards. A pricey lesson learned. ha ha.
Isn't it great when you find the combination that works? It's like a miracle! haha.
DeleteSorry my reply ended up in the wrong place! I seem to be having a problem with blogger letting me reply correctly. Must be the weather. ha! Have a good evening!
DeleteOh, it makes no difference to me. I knew who you were! :)
DeleteFeel Better Betsy!! And bless your heart as we say here in NoAla.
ReplyDeleteAh..so southern! My heart always needs blessing! haha.
DeleteSorry you have a cold! The wine sounds good. Hope you feel better and have no more sneezing fits. :)
ReplyDeletehahaha...oh, me, too!
DeleteIt doesn't take a sneezing fit these days....know what I mean? Ack!! Old age and dribbles, double ack!!!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA...oh, poor you! Ugh. So that's what I have to look forward to? Just shoot me now...haha.
DeleteBut surely you're younger than me....at least you look it!
HaHa!! I think I'm a year older. But, oh joy....you just wait. When out and about, you learn where all the clean restrooms are and then when you're running or riding the bike, you're scoping out patches of woods....just in case. Lol!!!
Deleteoh wonderful! lol....
DeleteYou have the ability to take a "snotty tissue" situation, and turn it into a delightfully funny story for us. Yes, can just picture you at the parking lot. But what a pretty ending with that sparkling peach wine. Wish I could share a glass with you. We are on our last leg of the trip and finally where I could take a minute on Don's computer. Hope you are better soon...maybe after that bottle....you will be. HaHa.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having fun on vacation and have found a cooler spot in California!
DeleteFortunately it wasn't raining while I was out today...and I didn't sneeze. haha.
Sparkling peach wine sounds delish and like just the cure you need, plus a pretty bottle to hold flowers later.
ReplyDeletethat is a really good idea! ;)
DeleteOh dear! As you said ... one of those days ... hoping you feel better by now. One of my friends just started to do a physio to keep those muscles closing tight :-) she is very happy with it! And she is still pretty young ... I guess it all happens on each physiology, number of kids etc ... The wine looks delicious I hope it did help!! and yes, for some reasons, the summer colds seems so much more annoying then the winter ones :-( get well soon!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea....Laurie, you hear that? :)
DeleteSure did! Worth looking in to.
DeleteOh And I meant to write 'it all depends' ... and mostly after rereading my comment it sounded like I am saying you are not young, which could not be father from the truth!!!! I did not mean like that, so sorry!! Not always easy to express correctly in a foreign language ... and btw. my friend is 51 y/o ...
ReplyDeletehahaha...oh, you're fine. I got what you meant. And I am old! haha.
DeleteWell that is the thing ... You are not!! I have rarely seen someone looking 25 when they turned 50! Besides nowadays that is just the beginning of the second half isn't it?! I always wonder whether people would actually feel and stay younger if they would not be getting a label of how old they are ... Just imagine that no one tells you that you are ... years old... that would be so cool :-)
DeleteYes...it's more how old you feel than the actual number! That's why it's so important to take care of yourself!
DeleteSo true!! And I think that you not only look half your official age but you also keep your mind young and it shows :-)
DeletePs: did you have the possibility to try the lavender tea?
I haven't tried it yet! My lavender bundles dried very nicely! So, did you just steep the buds in hot water like you would tea leaves?
DeleteMy lavender is not edible, I think. Don't want find out it was not ... Lol. So I buy the edible in a local health store. I just pour hot water over the buds for 10 minutes and then drink it. You have got my email? send me your postal address I will send you one bag :-)
DeleteOh, that is so sweet of you. Let me find out first if mine is edible. If it is, I have plenty of my own. Let me find out and I'll let you know!
DeleteOk :-)
DeleteThere seems to be disagreements about it! Some say it isn't culinary lavender if you buy it from the garden center to plant in your yard. So many I better not drink it. The soil might have had chemicals in it when it was purchased in a pot. So, yes, please...send me some! How fun! You're so nice to do that! I don't think I have your email so send me a note elizabethbrock at att dot net
DeleteHope you're feeling well enough to enjoy the auction today, Betsy!
ReplyDeleteI did ....ran out of steam though and left at noon.
DeleteI wonder if I can get that peach wine in my grocer or wine shop? It looks divine! And, about the peeing... oh yes, just wait til you get to be over 80 like me, girl. Such fun ahead.
ReplyDeleteI bet you could...hope you find it! It was very inexpensive, too!
Delete"I thought only old and pregnant women did that!" Yep, I read that as old, pregnant women...
ReplyDeleteSee! Glad a I clarified! haha.
DeleteOh my, what a day! Glad your remedy is working for you. I go out and eat some lobster when I am having one of those days. Lobster always makes me feel better and I don't have to cook.
ReplyDeleteOooh...well I like your remedy a lot! I may have to try that one!
DeletePray tell where did you pick up the vino. I will go forthwith!
ReplyDeleteI got it at Kroger! :) Hope you can find it!
DeleteYour life is so full of "everything" - you deserve a bit of pampering. Glad you enjoyed the wine.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary. :)
DeleteI do hope you're feeling better now. I meant to comment last night but accidentally abandoned my computer and went to bed instead! I had a some neighbours once who used to make wine. Some of it was rather good, but then one day they brought out a bottle of peach wine. Oh dear. Yuk! Yukkety yuk! It tasted of warm candle wax - you know when the candle has been burning for a bit and you get a little puddle of molten wax? I imagine your bottle tasted a lot better than that.
ReplyDeleteDrinking candle wax...ugh!
DeleteI hope you are feeling better and the weekend is terrific.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting there! Slowly but surely!
DeleteI hope your cold is better. I've been taking lots of C to try and ward off a sore throat this week. So far, so good..just a tingle now and then. I hate going to the grocery store in the rain- but you are right all those boys in the house- they do have huge appetites. Hope your weekend is better!
ReplyDeleteI hope you stayed well! Must be something going around!
DeleteHope the wine helped....
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
Well, the bottle is empty...that's all I can say. haha.
