Random Thoughts

  1. There is something very charming about a cat in a window.  Star is still quite skinny but I love how fluffy she looked today after she tolerated a good long brushing!  When she'd had enough, she whacked me with her paw. lol.
  2. I saw dandelions blooming in the strawberry patch this morning and for a half second thought, "Oh, I need to go pick those blooms. Nugget will love them." :(
  3. I'm feeling very productive this week.  I've worked in the studio, baked, done about 10 loads of laundry, a bit of spring cleaning, flea control on all the cats, and have even taken a little TLC time for myself.....a bubble bath this afternoon.  The thing I'm procrastinating about is the floors.  Well, yeah, the bathrooms, too. haha.
  4. This winter girl is finally done with winter.  I'm ready for spring! Real spring...spring where it's warm enough to open the windows, buy potted flowers for the porches and put the coats away until October!  We've had some teasing from spring but it doesn't really feel like it yet. It was 26 degrees this morning!
  5. The jelly beans are all gone.   I single handedly ate the whole bag in just over a week.  I'm actually relieved...haha...now they will stop calling my name!
Any random thoughts rolling around in your head,
or am I the only one that's weird like that?

  1. My one thought at the moment: When will this icy wind go away! It is sunny, but being outside is damned unpleasant.

  2. Oh I almost purchased a bag of jelly beans at the store today! I love them...why don't they make a bag with just red jelly beans?

    1. My bag was Starburst brand. Every color was yummy. I bet they were a great price today, Arlene...go back and indulge! haha.

  3. Star looks good, Betsy. It's been so nice to follow along with her progress. It is snowing here again so I, too, want a REAL spring. This is the pits. The birds have been fighting over food at the feeders thinking that this weather might be staying. Poor things. I bet your out-door cats are looking forward to long spring naps in the warm grass. Glad to know I'm not the only candy thief around. Black licorice is my downfall.

    1. The cats have enjoyed a few sun puddles outside when the sun has been out! I think they long for those warm days when they stretch out in the shade and doze all afternoon outside! Actually, that sounds good to me, too!

    2. "Sun puddles"? Love that expression.

  4. More snow for us today. I like it because we've had no winter to speak of. But I would like to see spring flowers, so I'm torn.
Love hearing about how Star is doing. She looks pretty in the window.
Aw - Nugget. I bet you miss that guy.
Hmmm... random thoughts in my head? They always seem random!
One thought is how fortunate I am to have such good friends. Particularly a group from high school. We see each other regularly, but we all got together this past weekend to have a mass celebration of turning 60 this year. Such fun!

    1. Every once in a while I see something that makes me not miss Nugget...like a baseboard he nibbled on...lol...but usually it's little things that were endearing about him that I miss. All the cute bunnies on Facebook make me want another, but I'll restrain myself. lol.

How fun to all get together and celebrate such a wonderful milestone! Very fun!

  5. Thunderstorms and very windy in area today, not quite as cold as you though.
Star is very comfortable in her window pose, she's come a long way since you first rescued her.
    She's a lucky girl.

Aw . . . . a sad thought about Nugget . . . you are bound to have memories of your wonderful bunny.

  7. I'm wondering why the day seems so long........and then, just when I start something I wonder where it has gone. Ever have one of those days? That's mine today. I do hope your Spring comes soon, ours has gone into hiding again too.

Busy week ~ Random thoughts...yes I have them ~ Started a new Women's Bible Study Tuesday morning in Ephesians. I'm already blessed.
Cooking class as the Villa today...but no cooking or baking (too warm) So we made NO back Cheesecake with toppings. It was a hit. The vine on the rail coming up to our unit is full of blooms.
I'm so glad you are finally getting spring....If this weather holds...I made drag out the swimming suit. HaHa

  11. You're def. not the only one who's weird like that. Me too!
I'm also done with Winter and ready for Spring! It has been so windy here the last few days and the temps. have dropped all day long - now we have rain. As the old saying goes, April showers bring May flowers, but I'd like to have April without the cool weather.
Glad you enjoyed the jelly beans! My favs were always white choc. Reese's pb cups. Ah, white chocolate ... Yum!
Other random thoughts - for the last few days I've been thinking how nice it is to have someone special in your life that loves you just as you are and is there for you through thick and thin. I've known him over half my life and we're not even married - but we're the best of friends. Having a friend like that makes you appreciate things even more.

We have your same weather..cold, wind and rain tonight! It's that damp kind of
cold that makes you reach for a hot cup of tea in the evenings! I'm not sure I've
ever had those white chocolate pb cups! I'll have to do something about that!

    2. Yes, you should! I hope you enjoy them....they are wonderful! I've never been much of a milk or dark chocolate fan, but put anything white chocolate in front of me and it doesn't last long. Eat a few for me! :)

That's 13...did a few more this evening. haha...craziness! I didn't do any over the weekend so that made the mountain grow!

  17. I always have those random thoughts but then they disappear and I can't remember what I was thinking - oh well.

Sounds like u have been busy - you sound like I use to be when my four sons lived at home and I was busy with a home business. Now I'm retired and have way too much time on my hands but I seem to fill it up. I do have random thoughts that someone needs to paint our deck outside and I wish they would get busy.

  19. Hello Betsy Brock:
Neighbors across the street are named "Brock" but no relation. lol I stumbled into your name and blogs and face and remembered the posts I have read that you wrote with photographs and wondered how my "Follow" became "unfollowed"? Always enjoyed your work and this morning I found you and a host of others I had completely forgotten about. How does stuff like that happen? I got to go back and choose myself another template and get into this big stuff. LOL. I have a lot of big photos and no place to show them. Gotta change that. My best wishes to Harry, Spencer and Alex and Taylor and Lauren; and, to the "Mister!"

    1. Hi, Abe! Glad to see you here! I've noticed occasionally Blogger will 'loose' followers for me. I wish they wouldn't do that..or figure out why it happens.

Big photos...I love them! I go into html and enlarge them as big as I can fit them in the posting space. Some people are annoyed with the size but I love to see quality photography in a big scale. Hope you figure out how to do it.

Nice to see you....I'll come visit your blog soon. :)

  23. I so enjoy your posts Betsy! So sorry about Nugget :-( I know this feeling when for a second you forget they are not there anymore ... sigh. Speaking of dandelions I did pick some fresh in the garden today and I did add them into my green juice. I thought it was yum, Steve refused to drink it. He even went to clean his mouth ... I need to improve the recipe lol ... Star is beautiful! and I had to LOL at the jelly beans calling your name and you being relieved you ate them all, oh I know that feeling, indeed very relieved there is no more, so that one can finally stop! Haha. I woke up to our neighbour sheep screams ... terrible ... But it was a birth pain only, I always that she was a he ... So another little fellow was born in the wee hours. Sadly she rejected him. So at 6 am I was trying to find the owners (they do not live here, they just have the land for the sheep next to us) in order to get the little one to be warm and milked artificially. Mission was successful. The little one made it so far and they brought the mother after him later to try to see if she will get 'reasonable' ... nature can be so cruel sometimes. I felt sorry for both of them. But I am optimistic about a happy ending! Have a wonderful day!

    1. Nugget loved dandelions..the greens and the yellow blooms! Aw. He's in bunny heaven now eating all he wants I am sure. :)

A little lamb...aw. Do post an instagram picture if you get one. I hope mama decides to let him feed and she cares for him! Keep me posted...

    2. No picture Betsy, I had not the heart to take him in picture as he was standing there on his wobbly legs crying for his mama and she was completely on the other side of the land ignoring him, it was heartbreaking actually. Then I drove little S to school and when I came back the lamb was gone to the owners property to be cared for, later on they came to pick his mama to try to put them together to create the bond. If they will manage I think they will bring both of them back here to our place. Then I will take pictures I promise :-)

    3. Well, I hope it works out. Although bottle feeding the little one would be fun, wouldn't it? I bet it would take many feedings round the clock, though...lots of work!

      Delete
    4. I know!! Not sure I would want to go through the baby up all the night thing again ... lol. But if it would help the little lamb ... I guess that is why they rushed back to pick the mother ... Have a nice afternoon! I am of to bed :-) and I will pretend I don't see the pile of laundry ... tomorrow is another day right?!
