Around Here, Lately

as seen through my cell phone....

  1. Wearing my two vintage blue necklaces today.  Delft Dutch shoes and a piece of Blue Willow china.
  2. Noticing light lately, like these last few rays of the day.
  3. And here, on my need-to-be-repotted succulents.
  4. One yellow dandy doesn't realize this is a blue only garden. :)
  5. The dogwood bloomed!
  6. New tennies for the boys!
  7. And I couldn't resist a pair for myself!

    2. I hear that joining a choir is a great anti stress thing. It doesn't have to be a church choir, and you don't need to be able to sing. But joining in with a group enjoying singing something like... er... Let's Go Fly a Kite from Mary Poppins really makes you feel good. Good for your immune system too they say. Although of course they might change their minds.

    3. I can see how that would be good for you! I sang in a chorale in college...lots of fun!

    4. We had a choir at school (you had to be able to sing and I can't), we had a madrigals society for the best people in the choir, and then we had the choral society. Why was basically turn up on a Friday evening and pick up the song book. Want to join in? OK. We sang Noye's Fludde by Benjamin Britten. Great fun.

  3. What a pretty picture of your fence and garden with the dappled light. Wow, lots of shoes all at once. Do you look for the BOGO (buy one get one) sales? They can be a big savings.

    1. I love it when the dogwoods bloom! One of my favorites!
One side of my ancestors are Scottish...fair and blue eyed. The other
side is Irish and Cherokee, among other things. I think I definitely got
      more the that side! haha.
I'm loving my converses....very comfy right off the bat!

    2. I've been told since I was a little girl that I was part Indian, probably Cherokee, but I can't find any evidence of it in the family tree. My coloring and hair and high cheek bones might lean that way, but I want proof. Haha! But how cool to be able to say, "I'm part Native American." I'm also part Irish.

    3. You should have your DNA tested! I did, so it confirmed a few things and rejected a few family myths! haha.
My great great Grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee. I even have a photo of her! Yes, I would
want proof, too. And I can see American Indian in you! So fun!

  7. Such a fun variety of shots.
I love how the light changes the mood of a photo. That second shot looks like a painting. Beautiful.
I am happy to see the blues accepted the lone yellow. Most generous of them.
    Shoe parade! Step right up!

  9. Look at you
    And flowers too
    Along with many a shoe
    And a fence in view

All the same rhyme scheme flew

    1. There you go
      with the same rhyme flow;
      Your words glow
      but that you know.
      At least it wasn't snow,
      then my toes wouldn't show.

Love those flowers along the path, the weathered fence makes me smile each time I see it.
You mentioned about the flowers in my old wheelbarrow, they are in fact herbs, in bloom :)

    1. Thank you, Jitka! Yes, I know you would agree...stress does terrible things to you! Take care of yourself! Eat and drink right, get sleep and exercise and think happy thoughts! It really makes a difference!

I write their initial on the bottom of their shoes so they would be able to find their own. They still have to have me tie them, though, so I make sure they don't get mixed up! Although sometimes when we are in a hurry and I'm not completely awake I'll get someone's wrong hahaha...but since they are not the same size, it's usually noticeable and I don't send them out the door that way. lol....

    2. I do lack on sleep and I know it is time for me to change that (I felt asleep while driving on Tuesday and I had my guardian angel with me to make me wake up before I would crash) that is sure a wake up call !!! The sleep is easier to fix then the thoughts but again when one is rested the mind is easier to work with ...
Lol for mixing the shoes sometimes ... When Steve was small and in the Kinder garden it happened to me to put him to the car with his home slippers, even in the winter ... haha ... thankfully I always noticed once he was seated in the car ... :-)

    3. Oooh...scary! Yes, you need to sleep! No falling asleep while driving!
