as seen through my cell phone....
- Wearing my two vintage blue necklaces today. Delft Dutch shoes and a piece of Blue Willow china.
- Noticing light lately, like these last few rays of the day.
- And here, on my need-to-be-repotted succulents.
- One yellow dandy doesn't realize this is a blue only garden. :)
- The dogwood bloomed!
- New tennies for the boys!
- And I couldn't resist a pair for myself!
Are the boys all the same in shoe sizes? Do they swap around?
ReplyDeleteI like the necklaces, they are very you!
DeleteNo, they are all different! No trading shoes!
DeleteAren't they? I love them!
DeleteYou just look younger and younger!
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you! I think my stress reducing efforts are paying off. haha.
DeleteI hear that joining a choir is a great anti stress thing. It doesn't have to be a church choir, and you don't need to be able to sing. But joining in with a group enjoying singing something like... er... Let's Go Fly a Kite from Mary Poppins really makes you feel good. Good for your immune system too they say. Although of course they might change their minds.
DeleteI can see how that would be good for you! I sang in a chorale in college...lots of fun!
DeleteWe had a choir at school (you had to be able to sing and I can't), we had a madrigals society for the best people in the choir, and then we had the choral society. Why was basically turn up on a Friday evening and pick up the song book. Want to join in? OK. We sang Noye's Fludde by Benjamin Britten. Great fun.
DeleteThat's perfect....no pressure and no expectations!
DeleteWhat a pretty picture of your fence and garden with the dappled light. Wow, lots of shoes all at once. Do you look for the BOGO (buy one get one) sales? They can be a big savings.
ReplyDeleteOh yes....always looking for a sale or bargain! It was even worse when our Taylor still lived at home! So many feet! haha...
DeleteSuch a pretty lady and aren't new shoes the best?
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow Dandy in your blue scheme.
Those boys are hard on their shoes! Lots of wear on the old ones. These look so new and fresh!
DeleteThose vintage blue necklaces could not have found a nicer home . . .
ReplyDeleteThey suit you so well and complement those big sparkling brown eyes . . . love your hair too Betsy . . . :)
With all those shoes one could be forgiven for thinking a centipede may reside with you . . haha.
Great that the dogwood bloomed . .
What a sweet thing to say! I hope they like their home around my neck. :)
Deletehahahaha....oh, so funny about the centipede! LOL! That is SO true!
That's what I was meaning and I am sure they will . . . forgot the eyelashes . . . lovely . . :)
DeleteGorgeous photos.....each and every one. Love the dogwood blooms. And you surely do have big beautiful brown eyes. As for the shoes....looks like Cliff's closet. He loves Converses.
ReplyDeleteI love it when the dogwoods bloom! One of my favorites!
DeleteOne side of my ancestors are Scottish...fair and blue eyed. The other
side is Irish and Cherokee, among other things. I think I definitely got
more the that side! haha.
I'm loving my converses....very comfy right off the bat!
I've been told since I was a little girl that I was part Indian, probably Cherokee, but I can't find any evidence of it in the family tree. My coloring and hair and high cheek bones might lean that way, but I want proof. Haha! But how cool to be able to say, "I'm part Native American." I'm also part Irish.
DeleteYou should have your DNA tested! I did, so it confirmed a few things and rejected a few family myths! haha.
DeleteMy great great Grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee. I even have a photo of her! Yes, I would
want proof, too. And I can see American Indian in you! So fun!
Such a fun variety of shots.
ReplyDeleteI love how the light changes the mood of a photo. That second shot looks like a painting. Beautiful.
I am happy to see the blues accepted the lone yellow. Most generous of them.
Shoe parade! Step right up!
I love the light, too! It's a beautiful thing and always changing if you
Deletepay attention and notice it! I'm loving the difference this spring and the evening light
that lingers longer and longer...just beautiful!
I like the photo of pretty you and your blue necklaces and the dogwood blossom.
ReplyDeleteThere's just something about old jewelry! :)
DeleteI'm always happy when our dogwood blooms....and sad when it's over!
Look at you
ReplyDeleteAnd flowers too
Along with many a shoe
And a fence in view
An easy rhyme through and through
All the same rhyme scheme flew
There you go
Deletewith the same rhyme flow;
Your words glow
but that you know.
At least it wasn't snow,
then my toes wouldn't show.
Those necklaces are so lovely, made even more so by the pretty lady wearing them !
ReplyDeleteLove those flowers along the path, the weathered fence makes me smile each time I see it.
You mentioned about the flowers in my old wheelbarrow, they are in fact herbs, in bloom :)
~Jo
I did love your wheelbarrow...and I love that they are herbs.
DeleteHope you don't mind me copying your idea...I think it's so charming!
Betsy, you always look so pretty!! I got Kendall some converse high tops for her 10th birthday and I was tempted to get some for myself.
ReplyDeleteI bet Kendall loved those! How fun! And yes, you should have gotten yourself a pair!
DeleteI love blue! Everything looks so cheery there. A new pair of sneakers is always a good thing!
ReplyDeleteI do agree...it's a good thing! Fun and comfy, too!
DeleteBeautiful photography Betsy. Loving the blue. Love the necklaces.
ReplyDeleteBut however do the boys know which shoes are theirs..any markings on them? Happy for you that you got some tennies for yourself too..I like them!
I put their initial on the bottom of each. :)
DeleteWow, the picture of you is so wonderful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love All Star too.
Have a nice day
Thanks, Manu! :)
DeleteHi Betsy - all just lovely ... from you the best - to the new shoes! And the yellow dandelion - the baddie in the show ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteA baddie....love that...must be a British word. I think I'll adopt it here! :)
DeleteStunning you look Betsy! (you are so right a out the stress reduced ... I feel that my stress level is at the top and i shows :-( ... Love the vintage necklace!! And the shoes are cool too. Do the boys recognise their when they are the same? :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jitka! Yes, I know you would agree...stress does terrible things to you! Take care of yourself! Eat and drink right, get sleep and exercise and think happy thoughts! It really makes a difference!
DeleteI write their initial on the bottom of their shoes so they would be able to find their own. They still have to have me tie them, though, so I make sure they don't get mixed up! Although sometimes when we are in a hurry and I'm not completely awake I'll get someone's wrong hahaha...but since they are not the same size, it's usually noticeable and I don't send them out the door that way. lol....
I do lack on sleep and I know it is time for me to change that (I felt asleep while driving on Tuesday and I had my guardian angel with me to make me wake up before I would crash) that is sure a wake up call !!! The sleep is easier to fix then the thoughts but again when one is rested the mind is easier to work with ...
DeleteLol for mixing the shoes sometimes ... When Steve was small and in the Kinder garden it happened to me to put him to the car with his home slippers, even in the winter ... haha ... thankfully I always noticed once he was seated in the car ... :-)
Oooh...scary! Yes, you need to sleep! No falling asleep while driving!
DeleteEver seen green willow plates? They're very cool!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have...really pretty.

ReplyDeleteI am always fascinated by your posts. My phlox is out of sight now and spreading out. It is the same color as your phlox.
