She looks so much better though. All that Betsy luvin' is doing the trick.

    1. She's really improving! I've been working on her coat...lots of
brushing...tons of dead undercoat to be gotten off her! And she
seems to be enjoying it for the most part. She's started to wash her
      face, too...and ears...amazing! Yay!

Yes, Velvet is the Queen. Star tries to boss her, but I told her
Velvet is the mom to most and has earned her title. haha...

    2. That's a great sign about washing herself! She must have been through so much. Makes my blood boil. So I'll try not to think about that part of it. Love her tucked-under paws.

    3. So true...she's had a very rough life. Someone did love her once, though....had her declawed and I think she's had a litter way back when...so, she was a in-house pet probably when she was very young. Who knows what happened after that to put her on the street..and without claws she couldn't catch food. And yes, then the terrible home which was worse than no home! At least it all has a happy ending!

  10. Star makes such a regal black kitteh cat queen, it is because you love and take such good care of her..My two kitteh cats know they are loved and wanted, fed, hydration, heat or coolness and petted and loved on, kitteh cats know this and she follows you because you are so wonderful, thanks for showing her in her queeness!

  15. Her face shows she has been through a lot. Yet her body language on this picture is relaxed. Star is becoming really pretty. What a difference from the first pictures we have seen of her. Great job kitty Mom!! :-) (that means you Betsy :-)

  21. Hi Betsy, your wonderful self and your cat Star make my day bearable..My fractured right shoulder is aching all the time with the rains we got, when we got 87 degree days not so much..Our kitteh cats enjoyed the sunshine by the patio door then we had to use a/c..very early tooo! I go to physical therapy now 2 times a week it helps but the p/a and doctor(s) say it will be one full year to heal..I did not know that shoulder and collarbone injuries would take that much time to heal..Oh, well thanks to the Lord I did not break my shoulder and have to have pins put in and a operation at that, the pain would have driven me to drink strong liquor, just kidding..I have to take a pain pill now and then and I just keep positive thoughts and I am grateful I did not break my neck or collarbone or complete shatter my right shoulder..peace to you and love sent to you and Miss Star, your blog inspires me and makes me feel great each and everytime you post..love and peace to you!

    1. Aw, I'm glad we can cheer you up a bit! Sometimes a nice distraction is very welcome when you're in pain! Yes, it could have been worse, but it's bad enough, sounds like. Each day is closer to being fully healed, though! Thinking of you and hope today is a good day! And hey...you need to tell me your name so I stop calling you the nice lady named anonymous. :)
