Melted

The snow melted away!   It was warm enough to
crack the kitchen open window for an hour or so this afternoon,
which was a good thing since I had the fryer out last night for
dinner and our house still smelled like McDonald's today. haha.
All of you S.A.D. people should be feeling pretty cheery with
all this sunshine we're having!

  2. I love your icicles. Colder here and huge storm coming from Texas tomorrow and Thursday. Yikes! Although sometimes they go through all these dire warnings and we get nothing. So who knows!

  3. We had lovely sunshine today. And hail. And we are promised that tomorrow will be 10 degrees colder at least. If only the weather would make up its mind'

  4. raining cats and dogs here today....and chilly. I am so tired of our muddy yard....can't wait until the new spring grass fills in. Read through a bunch of your past post.....lots of smiles here. I put the chocolate/bacon bars in everyone's stockings at Christmas. Never did get any feedback. What's with the bacon icecream chocolates and doughnuts anyway? Good to see you Betsy. :)

    1. I've seen a lot of those new bacon treats, including the doughnuts! haha. And I did buy a package of bacon today just for dipping in chocolate. I bet it's better than that bar! haha.
      Thanks for stopping by, Lynn!

  6. Feeling not so S.A.D. today.
I thought you'd CRACKED the window at first . . . gee! Had to read it again
    We don't use that phrase here . . . rather quaint . . .
Nice day here too and getting a bit warmer.
Shame your snow melted though . . :)

    1. You don't say that? haha. So what do you call it when you open the window just a little bit?

    2. Doors or windows slightly opened . . . . ajar

Had to think about that one ~ not used it for a while . . :)
Could be "on the latch" as well but that is mainly for doors . . . :)

    3. Is it a jar or is it a window? lol....and you're making
      fun of a crack....hmm....hahahaha....

    4. haha
      There is a saying here:
When is a door not a door? ~ when it's ajar".
      Love the fun . . . lol
Just off to The Rectory and before I went I cracked the upstairs windows . . . . hahah

  8. We are hovering in the high sixties and it feels so good.
I have tried to clean the sticky drips from my oven but every time I turn it on there still is that icky burned smell that stays in the house.
I do know what you mean.
    Love the melting icicles.

    1. Sounds like you need to do the entire oven clean thing.
I need to do that, too....waiting for the next cold spell!

  9. Nice and sunny today
    Bad acronym on display?
    Snow angry dieters
Now there may be some rioters
    Snow area dead
    Could lose one's head
    Snow acres depleted
    That could be greeted
I could go on all day
But then some snow may dose my bay

  10. I'm just dealing with the fact that we didn't get any measurable snow. I'm totally miffed about that. Lol! I bet you get one more good snow. We are expecting severe weather tomorrow. They even closed schools because of expected high winds and possible tornados. Love the icicles!

    1. I bet we get more, too...it is only February afterall! It's common for us to have snow through March and once in a while in April! I did see daffodil sprouts about 3 inches tall, though! The warm days did that! haha. I wonder if they will retreat back under!

    2. I don't know, but it makes you wonder if they'll bloom.

    3. I think they'll just stop coming up....no buds or anything yet...just barely visible.

  11. It looked such a nice day, sun shining, the flowers chirping away and the birds in bloom, that I opened my windows. I soon slammed them shut when the icy wind (windchill of -5C) blew through the house! I would sooner put up with the smell of last nights cooking than suffer that. Brrrrr.

  15. I hate that fry smell that seems to linger for far too long!
The snow melted here too, but there is a big storm predicted to start tomorrow afternoon. We'll see if the weathermen are right.

    1. Yeah..it's especially bad if you are outside in the fresh air and come home! Bleh!
All gone now, though....thankful for that bit or warmth so I could do that!
We have wind and snow showers coming!

  16. We have nothing here to melt, but I did sit out in the sun for a bit. It's still winter in Wisconsin, the sun went down and I was cold! Good to see the sun!

  17. I love this period of the year when we can see and feel spring in the air...well I mean here in Milan ;-)

  18. Hi Betsy - the weather is certainly improving .. just glad we haven't got those icicles .. but a cold snap is coming ... and it froze last night. The sun is out - and yes it does make a difference and also having longer days ... ie daylight til 5.30 or later ... cheers Hilary
