Alex brought home this sweet little bird house today.
Looks like an art project, so maybe two more will
be coming along before the week is out.
I rarely keep projects that are brought home. I may enjoy
them a few days and then they get pitched.
They are usually things like macaroni necklaces
or papers covered in glitter. But occasionally something
comes home that I love...like this little house.
Alex has always loved the color blue.
He always chose the baby bottle with the blue cap
when he was a baby, so I know he really did
paint this and pick the color.
Looks like he's a minimalist, too! haha.
♥
Around here, we call art projects that we don't keep, Disposable Art.
ReplyDeleteThis is a keeper!
That's a good name!
DeleteCute little bird box and well done Alex.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a large garden for two more . . . :)
As one who makes bird boxes I appreciate the design . . . :)
Oh, it's a tiny little thing....I bet three could hang in one tree.
DeleteWouldn't that be cute? Triplet boxes.
Excellent job. I love the blue, just the right amount for this house.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is unique, isn't it? lol....
DeleteI like this minimalist look. Well done Alex. It's definitely got a sort of something.
ReplyDeleteI tell you what. I once went to a celebrated exhibition of modern art. I was about 18 and didn't know what I was looking at or how celebrated the show would become in hindsight. But one thing I remember seeing: two glass bathroom shelves, each with a clear glass of water on. And each glass had a different amount of water in.
Well, this looks a good deal more artistic to me.
haha...I feel the same way at those exhibitions!
DeleteThat's a keeper. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? I hope I get two more!
Deletehaha minimalist works indeed
ReplyDeleteCan hang it at your feed
More feed for the birds about
Or a house to hide out
It's usually the wasps that make homes in the bird houses
Deletethose icky little louses. hahaha....
It's perfect! Blue is my favorite too! Some little song bird would love to make it their home. Good job Alex!!
ReplyDeleteI hope so! I'll have to hang it where I can see it from inside so I don't miss
Deleteany activity!
Aww that is so sweet! Waiting to see if you get 2 more:)
ReplyDeleteI hope so! Wouldn't that be fun!
DeleteLooks like a nice home for a bluebird. Do Harry and Spencer have favorite colors? Looking forward to seeing what they bring home.
ReplyDeleteThey don't have favorite colors...just Alex! We assigned them colors to keep things orderly around here but I'm not sure they would choose them on their own!
DeleteWonder what Harrry and Spencer will bring? This is sweet and brought a wee tear to my eye. Great shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteSometimes three things come home and other times only one or two! I think they get to choose an activity and they don't all choose art every time. This time, I hope they did!
DeleteAwwwww...love this!♥️
ReplyDeleteWe had pork tenderloin too!
Escaped the tornadoes....
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Glad you didn't get blown away!
DeleteTornadoes in SC, though...hope we hear from Laurie tonight!
We had a brief hard storm but that is it. Sideways rain, black and the lights
flickered but 10 minutes and it was all done! Now it's just raining.
Everything ok?
DeleteIt's so cute! I think they would look cute with 3 hanging together!
ReplyDeleteI do, too! I hope I get two more!
DeleteI like it! And you can put it to good use around the house too!!
ReplyDeleteYep! When spring actually arrives, I'll hang it in a tree! :)
DeleteI would keep this too, Betsy. Sort of random, but I like Susie Larson on FB. I "like" her. When bird houses bring joy, her posts bring Biblical encouragement. Spring is in the air!
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks for that...I'll look her up!
DeleteHello!:) It's a good choice, and it's a darling little house, hope a family moves in soon to entertain and delight.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun if a family moved in! I'll have to watch this spring and see!
DeleteI agree, three would look so nice hanging from a tree! Good job Alex.
ReplyDeleteI know! Fingers crossed two more come home!
DeleteHi Betsy - how wonderful .. can you top up the painting .. ie give it a little nearer finishing touch? Wonderful .. the Mister will be hanging three bird houses at the weekend .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI would never 'fix' what Alex painted. The imperfection is perfect in his world and that is what makes it wonderful.
DeleteThis is so wonderful!!! As for me, my daughter brought home a lovely Christmas candle we still light during Christmas Holidays; all other projects are in a box ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy mum still have an atrocious small dog shaped statue I gave her when I was a child I bought during a school trip... I keep on telling her to throw it in the rubbish bin but she replies she really likes it ...hahaha
It's nice to have a few memories like that! I bet your mom loves that dog statue for sentimental reasons! Aw.
DeleteBetsy, that's the only reasonable reason why she loves that statue
Deletehaha....so funny!
DeleteI would keep such a lovely birdie's house too! :-) I think the birds may like the natural colour on it anyway ;-) or do you plan to give it a little paint yourself? ... Imagine it will come 2x times, birdies will be happy :-) and if the other boys don't bring it back home you may want to claim it from the school! haha
ReplyDeleteI like it just like it is....completely created by Alex. I wouldn't add more paint to it. I think he made it just like he wanted and that makes it special. It's snowing today, so I'll wait to hang it outside! haha.
DeleteThat's so sweet to hear!! I took a picture of a lovely cat today on my morning walk. And I thought of you when I saw it. The cat looked so content in the sun, all the same like many of your cats :-) it's on IG :-)
DeleteI looked but didn't see it....I'll have to try again!
DeleteOk! No worries. It is funny but everytime I see a cat I think of my son (he loooves cats) and of you!! :-) have a lovely weekend!
Deletethat's a cute bird house - if one of my guys brought it home i would keep it too. But...my four boys are out of the house and married. Your blog is nice. I had somehow lost your link and found it again, so I'm trhilled i can continue to visit.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy! Glad we can reconnect! You have four boys, too? My oldest is out of the house and married...my other three will always be with us. But that's ok....I can still get sweet things like bird houses that way. :)
DeleteThat bird house is a keeper, I hope you hang it outside where a bird family will use it.
ReplyDeleteI know...so sweet, isn't it? It's going outside for sure!
