I fed this one last winter....peanuts in the shell, raw and unsalted. He knows there are cats about and it very careful and boy can he run fast! haha....
One of the very first prints I bought to furnish my first apartment in my early 20's was the squirrel by Albrecht Durer. Now I see them drinking from my fountain from time to time and also burying and digging up nuts. Lynne in NC
I just looked up that print...adorable! What a great timeless piece for your first place! After I posted this tonight I saw a baby one in the tree....must be a family there!
Very cute fellow. Much more so than rats! They are all getting fat on bird seed around here! Surviving the cats could be a real chore for them! Circle of life stuff can be a trial sometimes.
Oh, those rats! lol....they know they have it good in your feeder! The cats were watching today...the daddy seems to be on to them...hope he teaches the little one!
Hi Betsy - they are cute to look at .. when I was growing up we had red squirrels - sadly these 'thugs' killed them off! They are wonderful - but they aren't very nice and not very good to have around ... well your home is protected with your beautiful cats .. cheers Hilary
He is cute. I love squirrels. I know they're not great for gardens... but I love them. We used to feed them as kids, to my father's dismay!

DeleteGreat capture shot . . . and he is taking a chance with all your cats . . . but I see he is a fast runner . . :)
ReplyDeleteYes, he's a wise old guy. And he lives very high up in their maple tree!
DeleteYou say you watched him or her, but I wonder just how many cats were watching as well?
ReplyDeleteSeveral, I'm sure! And as I'm typing this, I'm watching a baby squirrel in the tree!
DeleteCute little guy and he's looking right at me. Hope he stays safe!
He's thinking "That's a nice lady, I bet she will bring some nuts out for me"!
DeleteHe might be! But I'm afraid he isn't as wise as his daddy and might not watch for the cats too well!
DeleteThey are always so entertaining and cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with all that tail dancing and twitching? It surely means something!
DeleteOne brave guy
ReplyDeleteAnd sure isn't shy
Bet he loves to tease though
As a few tease the dogs at the other show
He's a peeping Tom, too...
Deleteinterested in what's happening inside the zoo!
Maybe looking to join
DeleteShould you show him a little coin
He would have to live outside.
DeleteInside he could not abide. Lol

ReplyDeleteYes, they are cute but destructive if they decide to set up home in your rafters! Thankfully, we have Roof Top Surveillance Duty here. haha.
DeleteI told Little Red to watch his back too. These kittens are fast as lightening!
ReplyDeleteyes, they are!
DeletePerhaps the kitty cats are secretly double agents protecting his hidden nuts? !
ReplyDeletehaha...well now, that would be a surprise!
