I cleaned the kitchen the other day.
Not just the normal straightening and wiping up, but
the real kind of cleaning. You know, where you actually
get that spilled flour behind the canister and the dust
from the top of the fridge? It looked so nice I took photos.
Tiger and Charcoal were the finishing touch to the coziness.
♥
I love how it all looks after a cleaning. Just knowing it's done is enough to make me smile:)
ReplyDeleteYep, me too! It doesn't last long, though, so you have to enjoy it immediately! haha.
DeleteNice to see you prefer your handwash and conditioner to be made in England.
ReplyDeleteBut of course! It's grapefruit and citron scented..lovely!
DeleteI always use their Aftershave Balm, for men of course.
Deleteof course! lol
DeleteOn the other side of the sink is Vanilla Brown Sugar...in case I feel like being more American. haha.
DeleteI do really use the Aftershave, I lost the beard years ago. . . .
DeleteOh, I thought you mean on your legs!...tee hee.....
DeleteNaughty1
DeleteMe? ha.
DeleteI love your storage jars with the silver lids. Beautiful. And the cushion. Did you work this yourself? I've not seen a design quite like it. A basket full of cherries? Or grapes?
ReplyDeleteAlways very satisfying to carry out a deep clean. I vacuumed my bedroom at the weekend. My carpet (dark purplish red) shows every tiny speck of dust so a proper clean takes forever and every piece of furniture or box of stuff must be moved. Exhausting. But worth it. And my reward? A long hot bath with Jo Malone rose bath oil.
oooh...I love the reward! I contemplated a soak in the tub this weekend but didn't feel like scrubbing the tub first! haha.
DeleteSoon, though...because it sounds lovely!
I bought the pillow years ago...cherries in a basket. I love needlepoint but have never done it myself!
btw...thank you for completing that purchase! Now I need to get you some chips to send along with it!
I'm sorry it took me so long. My computers have real issues with passwords. I have a book with them all written down but every 6 months or so I have to change them all. Infuriating! Looking forward to my new tin. Thanks!
DeleteOh, no problem...I haven't gone crisps shopping yet anyway!
DeleteLooks great . . . wanna do mine? . . . lol
ReplyDeletehaha...well, no....you do it and take photos!
Deletelol . . . . ok
DeleteAll nice and clean is a perk
ReplyDeleteMy ocd likes that perk
Cats sitting together are grand too
Almonds also work at your zoo
Yanked the stove and fridge out a few weeks ago
Cleaned under them at my show
perk and perk? What a lazy rhymer today!
DeleteCan't even believe you did that at my bay!
hahaha....
lmao whoopsy
DeleteBut the perks just flew free
Loosing your touch..
Deletebrain out to lunch...lol...
Love the way your fur babies get along so well together. So much peace and harmony in your home. Lynne in NC
ReplyDeleteThey do get along exceptionally well.....99% of the time! We have the occasional hiss and swat, though. haha.
DeleteIt really does look cozy in your kitchen. Love your farm style sink and those double windows and that view is awesome. The pillow looks like it was made for your new chair.
ReplyDeleteThat crab apple tree outside the window was planted to block Mr. Neighbor Man's view...his of us and ours of him. lol....
DeleteHaHa! ROFLMBO!!!
Deletelol...it's true! So sad when the leaves drop...
Deleteit looks so warm , cosy and inviting, and the treats in the jars makes me hungry, the little bird peeking out from behind the bottle and the beautiful feline pals make it home to me,
ReplyDeleteI love little details like that. That little bird makes me smile every day. :)
DeleteThe kitchen is still new and gorgeous. Like the modern mixed with the classic and vintage. Always nice to work in a clean kitchen. Fall cleaning!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe it's a year old next month? Time flies....
DeleteYep, fall cleaning....or I'm still catching up on the spring cleaning...lol...
Nothing like a nice clean kitchen, eh Betsy?
ReplyDeleteReady for you to create some delicious meals for your 5 Men! And one gal!
Those cats are so cute and furry....
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Loving the clean kitchen.....wish it would stay this way! ha.
DeleteIt looks so nice and doesn't it feel so good when you do that? I love your glass canisters!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the jars in the first shot - Pecksniff? I never heard of that brand, but I see they are English.
They are hand soap and hand lotion...from TJ Maxx. Keith approved so I guess they are
Deletetruly English. haha.
Glad they are Keith approved!
DeleteI need to do that kind of cleaning... maybe tomorrow, lol! I love your farmhouse sink and your glass jars with the nonmatching lids!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachel...and it's nice to see you here!
DeleteI love those jars too, but I think the most favorite of all is that sweet little bird peeking out from behind the lotion.
ReplyDeleteNever would have thought of that but it's so charming.
I'm delighted every time I visit your blog.
I love that little bird, too! He's been all over my house over the years...peeking out of
Deletepotted plants, pencil jars, etc. :)
Oh, there it is, second picture!
ReplyDeleteI think I even dreamed of it one night,
The joy you must have everyday, especially with a sink full of dishes.
Be still my heart!
I've named my faucet "Christine". I wonder why. lol....
Deletelove it!
DeleteI love your soaps on the sink...they make your kitchen so chic.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day
Thanks, Manu! Those were a gift from my son and his wife...love them!
DeleteHi Betsy - you do your home proud ... it looks lovely and a wonderful place to cook and work in ... and if you're a cat to lounge very happily in! Lovely - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThere is always a cat or two lounging in the kitchen....I actually think they're waiting for a treat. :)
DeleteNice cleaned kitchen...
ReplyDeleteVery pleasant, like an invitation to come in and stay...
Best regards from France,
Pierre
Absolutely, Pierre! Come on in and have a cup of coffee! :)
DeleteI am in love with your sink.
ReplyDeleteTaking notes for my kitchen update next summer.
Oh, you're going to have so much fun next summer!
DeleteMost of our kitchen is from Ikea....I'm not disappointed
with any of our purchases from there...all great stuff!
*sigh* It all looks lovely and quite serene. My kitchen always seems to hectic! lol
ReplyDeleteWell, mine WAS hectic....which is why it called for a cleaning. haha....
DeleteFresh and clean! For now... lol
ReplyDeleteFeels good I bet.
I just love that kitty pic... so soft and tranquil. And I'm sure I 've mentioned this many times... but those tucked in paws are the best part.
Yes...for now. haha....funny how it doesn't last but a moment....dirty dishes in the sink, crumbs on the floor...
DeleteI agree about the paws! And that Charcoal...I always say his expressions are human, but they really are!
A clean kitchen is close to paradise. Warm greetings to you!
ReplyDeleteI do agree with that!
DeleteThat must be almost a pleasure to do, in your sparkling new kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's a year old next month already! Can't believe it!
DeleteLooks so nice, I too love that freshly cleaned kitchen, (bath, pick a room) experience! Why can't it just stay clean for more than 12 hrs? The little bird peeking out looks so realistic, I had to give it a second look.
ReplyDeletePat
Oh I agree about the bathrooms! And I do wish the clean look would last a little longer! Sometimes it's less than a minute in the kitchen and a dirty glass goes in the sink! haha.
