Random Thoughts

  1. I love this picture of Marmalade.  He was watching leaves fall!
  2. October is half over already!  How is this happening???
  3. I traveled 45 minutes to work an auction this morning.  It was 42 degrees!  Gorgeous sunshine, some brilliant color in a few trees.  It really felt like fall! A beautiful drive through the countryside.
  4. Velvet and Samantha had been missing for 8 days. :(  I had given up hope when yesterday Velvet was sleeping on the porch swing when I got home from the grocery like she had never left!  And when we got up this morning, Sam was under my desk, curled in her basket.  Miracles....both of them!
  5. My babies are turning 22 on Sunday.  Boys, not cats. haha.
  6. Tomorrow I'll be attending the Ribbon of Hope Luncheon in Dayton along with 700 other women.  If you happen to be attending, look for me!  I'll be sitting at the tables sponsored by Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center. :)

  1. I love long drives in the country. I'm glad Velvet and Sam came home, but I did think for a split second you were talking about the kitties turning 22. LOL!! Hope the boys have a great birthday! My grandson, Sawyer, had a birthday yesterday. He turned 9 years old. There's something else we have in common....October birthdays.

    1. I knew someone might think that! hahaha!

Happy birthday to your Sawyer. Aw...9-11 is such a fun age for boys....one of my favorites.

I love long country drives...I really need to take a few more before the leaves are all gone!

  2. I wish I drove almost solely for the purpose of autumn drives. Such a perfect time of year. Have to convince some friends to join me.
Sooooo glad Velvet and Samantha returned - I bet they have stories.
Marmalade is the perfect autumn kitty!
How can the boys be 22? Wow.
    Hope you enjoy your luncheon.

    1. I agree...drives in autumn are THE best. I am just terrible at doing fun things like that...seems like I never just take the time.
I need to take my camera and go out for a drive when the leaves are at their peak!

    2. You need to! Pretend it's on one of your lists like you used to have in your sidebar.

    3. I was thinking of that last night. I didn't do those lists at all last year....maybe I'll bring them back starting with winter!

  5. Marmalade with his striped tail looks like he might have stepped out of Alice in Wonderland. What amazing news about Velvet and Sam! They must have embarked upon a fall leave gazing tour. Temps. are finally coming down here. It was around 50 when I got up this morning. Will have to wait for a freeze or frost or two before I will feel safe from mosquito or tick bites. Lynne in NC

    1. I don't think I could have taken another cat gone missing! And two at once ...I was feeling sick about it. They didn't come back together, though, so I don't know if they were gone together or not. So glad to see them again....hopefully as the weather gets colder they will stick close to home!

  6. Marmalade looks vert astute sitting there
As the leaves fall at your lair
Wonder where there other two went to
Glad they are back like nothing happened at your zoo
Yep, October is half way through
    Flying by at every zoo

Losing cats makes me say boo-hoo.

  7. I finally figured it out.... (North vs South thing).... Your leaves have just started turning, and already you're talking of them being all gone before long. Down here, ours are showing some decent "early" signs of color, but won't peak here until almost mid NOVEMBER... So I'll take the South, with my long planting seasons, my long beautiful Fall seasons, and my SHORT winters.... LOL (And I love those drives in the country... or mountains in my case.... may just have to find a day to do nothing but that.)

    1. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow...don't want to wait too long and miss the leaves at their best...

  8. I like that kitty too. Cats would have some interesting stories to tell if they could talk. They don't seem to have the loyalty that dogs have, they think nothing of having a few different homes. The trees here are absolutely beautiful right now, but it's so chilly out...wah.

    1. Yes, they are independent! You never know whether to worry or not. I've had them gone 5 days before so I don't worry until its been over a week...but still! geesh!

  9. Cats are such mysterious creatures. I know you don't want to lock the in but it makes you want to for sure. The life to be able to just sit and watch leaves falling would be a great life. Our birch tree is dropping leaves like rain today so I know fall is definitely here.

    1. Yesterday we had leaves falling like rain...or I say 'snow'. haha...Just enough breeze to take them down..it was beautiful!
Since my cats were feral to begin with, I can't imagine locking them in....we have that cat flap so they can come and go as
they please. On a very rare occasion, we have one that doesn't belong to us slip in at night to eat! lol....

  10. We had a Marmalade colored cat growing up. They say orange tabbies are the best. I can't believe the triplets are going to be 22! My goodness I need to move them up in my mind. It is beautiful here too!

    1. They don't seem to be 22 to me, either....the autism and being nonverbal makes them seem so much younger!
Marmalade has turned out to be a great cat....and I love how he stands out in our crown of black and greys!
