Auction Fun

We've been spoiled this past summer working auctions in our brand
new facility!  As fun as that is, it's also fun to travel to have
an auction on-site.  This past Wednesday I was at this old estate!

That's two of our three auctioneers there in the top photo.  And just
look at those box lots!  I brought home a full Jeep from this auction,
some things I bid on and some things were left for the trash.

It had also been a while since I was actually cold! haha.  Even though
I wore layers, I actually found myself shivering part of the day!
We're outside again tomorrow....
better put some heated liners in my boots this time!
If you're local, come to Bellbrook and check out the auction!

We have a frost advisory tonight....time to bring in a few
plants I want to save over the winter!

    1. The sun helps! But if you're standing on concrete your feet go numb. haha.

  2. I've only been to one auction, a horse auction at that and it was boring. But now I could totally get into an estate auction like yours. I know your job has to be fun. Hey, guess what? We are going to get into the forties at night this weekend. Woo Hoo! I'm looking forward to a fire in the firepit outside. Hope you stay warm tomorrow. Show us some of your stuff. Have fun!

It's still in the high 80's today. They keep saying showers but nary a drip around here . (:0(

    3. Have you got some heated liners for your pink wellies? I had some electrically heated Wellington boots once, but I found it a bit of a bind having to pull the cart along behind me with the car battery in it!

  7. You're getting all of us "followers" into the auction spirit!! Some of us have never been, and I'm starting to think that might be worth trying. I'll let you know if I give in to the urge. LOL

  8. It's been too long since I've been to an auction. I love them. I loved the box lots and I'd come home with a trunk load, well more like a truck load in my car!

  9. Betsy, hope you will keep warm. As long as it does not rain I don't mind the cold. Especially when there is a beautiful clear blue sky. A very happy bday to your babies tomorrow (I actually thought you meant the cats for one second). The time flies. We will have a family celebration for our little one tomorrow as well even though his bday comes on 22nd but it feels better to celebrate on a weekend then in a rush on Thursday night. And yes, you are beautiful in and out! not a single wrinkle, lucky lucky genes! Good for you and good for us because it is so pleasant to look at your beautiful happy face!

    1. I didn't keep warm. :( Brr! I dressed appropriately but the wind was just too much of a wind chill,,,a miserable 9.5 hours. Whew!
      Home now and thawing out.

  10. Hi Betsy - fascinating to see what comes out of the house - yes the cold, might be a wee challenge - lots of laughter required to keep warm. Running on the spot is a warming mechanism too - could garner some amused looks ... have fun - and hope you get the plants away from the frost.

    Cheers Hilary

  11. I've actually never been to an auction before, but I'd love go one day. I'll bet you've found some wonderful treasures, too. I've been out a couple of days recently and wished I had remembered to bring a jacket with me. I think my brain is still in summer mode. Stay warm... :)
