Instant Decluttering

I spent a couple of hours in our garage this week
just sorting through auction finds, throwing out trash,
filling a few thrift store boxes...stuff like that.
Old rugs got thrown out and the floor swept.

I didn't get to any major cleaning but it was a nice
big dent in an overdue project.

When you clean out the garage, you find fun things.
Things like bird houses saved from the auction trash.
Then you just take 6 steps out to a tree and hang it there.
   Instant charm.  Instant decluttering. ha.

    1. It's a Purple Leaf Plum tree...the leaves sprout that color in the spring! It's a nice change from all the green.
And look at you being first! :)

    2. First---yes, I was totally shocked! Although it has happened occasionally here and there. But it's rare. Oh so rare. And we have those purple leaf plum trees around here as well... just none here at our place. Guess I'm anxiously looking for any signs of Fall sneaking in...... (heavy sigh)

  4. We keep meaning to de-clutter the entire house...but you know how it is. Does anyone use their garage for its intended purpose?

  7. Well that's the way to do it. Cute birdhouse. I hung a cute little thatched birdhouse hoping for a bird family to move in. Found out yesterday that a family of wasps moved in instead. Yikes!

    1. Oh how rude! haha....I have an old one with a wasp nest in it, too...or the remains of one. The bird house sounds cute, though!

  10. Hi Betsy - well done ... doing a little at a time makes sense. The little birds will love the box as it swings amongst the purple plum leaves - what a great little tree for Spring ... cheers Hilary

  11. Now that's the kind of decluttering I can handle..move from one spot to another. It's when I actually have to make a decision to throw something out that I usually slow way down and eventually give up.
