Random Thoughts

  1. Sunshine.  It's been glorious today after days and days of downpours.  More rain from Tropical Storm Bill is on it's way, though!
  2. Rain makes things grow.  Really grow.  I even see a red tomato out in the garden winking at me.  Must go pick it!
  3. Do you ever feel like you aren't appreciated until you aren't in the picture or in a situation any longer?  Or do you feel like your kindness is taken advantage of?  hmmm....
  4. Little Star continues to improve.  I'm still working on her fur.  I swear every hair of her coat is dead and we need to brush it out so a new, healthy coat can come in.  She tolerates brushing very well, which is a good thing!  I even hear purring!
  5. The landscapers outside have been working hard!  I felt bad for them yesterday working in torrential downpours.  The overgrown stuff is all gone and they have taken up the broken concrete walk and reconfigured a new one.  Pavers are being laid today.  Not only will it be safer, but it is a drastic improvement!
  6. Father's Day is Sunday!  Need to make something delicious and chocolate for the dad in our house.  He loves chocolate, craves it and gets cranky without it, just like a middle aged woman with pms...lol....so chocolate he shall get on his day.  I'm thinking Fudge Upside Down Cake.  The recipe is already posted on my blog if you're interested.  Super easy and super yummy.
  7. I had lunch out with a girl friend today.  New restaurant to me. First Watch near the Nutter Center, if you're local.  I had breakfast tacos.  They were amazing.  We shared heartbreaks, laughs, food and then a quick trip into Target.  Perfect.
What's happening with you today?

  2. A not-so happy day of doctor visits, unexpected balance-due statement, and a naughty little kitty who shall remain nameless, taking the life of a baby rabbit.
Torrential rain topping it all off....THAT I was happy about !
Glad you had a nice lunch and visit.

    1. Aw...so sorry about your day. Hate days like that!
Poor bunny....that's happened here before. Tiger wanted to bring his catch inside a few days
ago (mouse) and was quite irritated that we wouldn't let him!
It's hard to complain about the rain, isn't it? So much better than having everything dry and brown.

  3. Love the Peek a Boo shot of Star. We had lunch with friends today at Islands. Will be going to church with our daughter Julie Father's Day and enjoy her family. I ask her what I could bring....she said...Nothing, I have it covered....it will be delicious and simple. Can't wait.

  5. She has really become the star of your household! Good thing Slate isn't the jealous type. I also love Target, although the older I get the less the clothing seems to be something I can get away with wearing. Lynne in NC

    1. Everyone gets to be a Star until the next new one comes along. haha. She was quite talkative today. And I saw her with Slate napping on the couch together again. I bet he weighs 5 times as much as her. ha.

  9. Well I rode the bike for 2.5 hours and then came home and tried to eat some of the 1000 calories I burned. I just need to stop that. I work hard to burn the calories. And then it was laundry, changing out the linens and bedding at the beach. After that I started cutting the fabric to make new curtains, also. Salmon for dinner and just topped it off with a Blast from Sonic. I was disappointed with that! Gave the rest of it to Cliff. I'll have to look for your recipe. Love the shot of Star peeking over the box. She probably thinks you can't see her. The box provides some kittyflauge! Ha!

    1. Wow....you really had a full day! I can see how eating what you burned would be an easy thing to do...you kind of want a reward for what you just did! ha.

Making new curtains...I'm impressed! Can't wait to see them!

  11. Sounds like everyone but me worked hard today. I had a lazy day but had a wonderful, long conversation with a dear girlfriend.
#3 yes, on occasion, but thankfully not often. Sorry if that's happening to you.
That upside down cake sounds sinful.
I see a second kitty in your photo! Through the glass shelf of your cabinet, far right. Laughing.

  13. Don't think I have heard of First Watch. Glad you got to have a day out with a friend. I need one of those, soonest!
Bill skirted by yesterday- and in his wake shut down a church camp my granddaughter was going to south of OK City. She's really been looking forward to it and it was her senior year to go.
Your kitty is cute peeking out of that box- I'm glad he is feeling better. Have a great weekend!

    1. I had never heard of it either! I need to get out more...lol....
Too bad about your granddaughter and camp! But I can see why it was closed...don't want the kiddos swept away...literally! It's terrifying that that actually has happened to people....in cars, even in houses. Amazing and awful. But in this case you can't even say, "there's always next year" since she's a senior...how disappointing!
Star is coming along....some things have been a challenge but I think she's doing great! Three weeks today!

  14. I had lunch at Panera Bread yesterday. Alone. Alone is not the way to eat a Panera Bread, although I saw others alone too. My Darling had been in Webster early, but went home not feeling well an hour or so previous. I saw his van leave the driveway where he is redoing an apartment next door to the office where I was doing orientation.
I have a kitty with a poor coat too. He's a sad looking little old man, but he's had a good life since he came to live with us 16 years ago.

Every critter is getting a brushing around here...at least the ones that will let me touch them, which is everyone but Velvet.
Most of them love it, surprisingly.
