Did You Look At The Sky Today?

"Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,
I hope you dance..."

  1. The sky I can watch
But to dance I'd need scotch
    As that is bad
    At my pad

    1. Do a sock hop...
      I'm sure it won't flop.
And sing into your wooden spoon
      when nobody is watching you.

You do have a wooden spoon, don't you?

    2. lol not a single wooden spoon

  2. In fact I looked at it quite a lot today at various times. Was beautiful and sunny this morning but quite ominous now. I was on our roof garden at one point and the sky over the lake was just gorgeous. Didn't want to come inside! I enjoy it in all its variety. Love your photo today.

    1. We're having a beautiful sky day today, too! But like you, I enjoy a grey sky....which is what we are supposed to get tomorrow!
It's chilly today....I had the windows open for a while but now my toes are cold. :)

    2. Mine are cold too. It's 4C (39F) here tonight. Brrrrr!

  3. Alternating from clear to cloudy here . . . with a dash of hail and thunder later on . . .They say variety is the spice of life . . :)

    2. The skies here come in four shades: "light grey", "mid grey", "dark grey" and "Oh, My God, it's the End of the World!".
      What's a "blue sky"?

    3. I guess Irving Berlin wasn't English. (Blue Skies, Shining on Me...) He was Russian, but was in the USA when he wrote that song!

  4. Ours wasn't anything like as blue as yours today.

    1. You inspired me to take a look outside....after a foggy start this morning, we've now got blue skies and fluffy white clouds.
I did a little "getting jiggy with it" dance on the porch :)
      Your sky is beautiful !

  5. I didn't dare look up at the sky today, the hailstones were rather big, and they hurted me!

    2. You're getting good at this repartee business, too good, I shall have to "look to my laurels"
(means to take care not to lower or diminish one's reputation or position, especially in relation to that of a Cherokee squaw who thinks she is potentially better. . . . .just saying!)

    3. Aw, I'm just trying to keep up with you! So you think I'm wizard prang?

    4. and couldn't I be a Cherokee maiden instead of a squaw? It just sounds nicer. ha.

    5. But you are married, you gave up your maiden status together with your freedom when you said "I do!"

    6. Yes, I understand...it just sounds so old and matronly. ha.

I did dance on the weekend....does that count?
    Cheers!

  7. The sky was blue and bright, the wind fresh and brisk.
Early on I donned short sleeves, but saw the fog roll in off the lake and traded the short for long.
    It was a good choice.

    1. That's how it was here....the sky and sun was deceiving...the air was chilly!
Typical spring...dress in layers or change clothes half way through. ha.

  10. I've always loved that song. When my girls graduated from high school, I had a theme song for each of them. "I Hope You Dance" was my oldest daughter's song. It has such promise and potential in its message. Great song for your beautiful blue sky! I like to watch the skies too and I'm partial to thunder storm skies. Do you ever try to make shapes out of the clouds?

    1. Cloud shapes? Oh yes. I have a 'cloud' label on this blog and many of them are shapes I've seen. Such a fun thing to do!

I love your idea of the theme song for each daughter...and this one is perfect for that!

    2. Wow! I took a look at your clouds and I saw the same things....the geese, the whales tale and elephants. So fun!
We have cloudless skies right now, but are expecting thunderstorms this afternoon. Whoop! My favorite. Wishing you a great day!
