This And That

  1. Velvet knows how to spend a Friday afternoon!
  2. Mr. Cardinal.  I've been watching him feed Mrs. Cardinal this week. Love is in the air.  So sweet.
  3. There were a lot of spring 'firsts' this week.  No jackets, green grass, leaf buds on the trees, ...and thunderstorms, just to name a few.
  4. I turned on the back porch light last night and this is what I saw. Little sick feral kitty.  I'm getting close to getting him in that carrier!  I touched his head today and got a big hiss. That's hiss...not kiss. ha.  A couple of weeks ago he didn't have the energy to hiss.  He's still sick but not as weak or starving.
  5. If you like Royal Winton Chintz China, I listed a boat load of it in my shop today.  No really, a boat load! ha.
Happy Weekend!

Glad Peaches is getting used to you. Perhaps he will trust you completely soon.
    Poor little thing
It's not as though you can explain to him you want to get him better . . . ~ I would certainly not give you a hiss !! lol

Just love the shot of that Cardinal . . . and love in the air ~ lucky blighter . . . lol
Love the shot of Velvet on the swing . . . :)

  2. it honestly breaks my heart to see animals abandoned, he's lucky to have found you,, maybe this one will be a survivor , our daughter Kelly finally brought in the stray she has been feeding all winter. He has made himself quite at home, like he always had been with them, it took time and patience but all is well, saving one at a time,, sometimes thats all you can do.

    1. Peaches wants to come inside but can't let him until he's well.....I'm sure he's contagious and don't want him sharing our water/food bowls. He's coming more often, though, so I'm excited at the possibility of getting him to the vet. Your Kelly and I would get along very well, I think. ha.

  3. Ah, to be a cat on a porch swing - that's the life! I am glad Peachy alias Peaches alias poor little kitty is getting more tame. Look how his sweet paws are tucked under. Any day now!
The boys look very summery! It's not that warm here yet. Although the temperature sort of indicates it might be - there is a bite in the air. It is very windy and gloomy and thunder and lighting. I happen to enjoy the thunder and lightning part! The wind and gloom I can do without.
I am in LOVE with this chintz pattern and all the pieces in your shop. I would love to buy it all up in a snap... where is my lottery ticket!? :-)

    1. Peaches just looked so sweet laying there like that. ha. It was slightly too chilly not to wear a jacket in the morning but it warmed up to 70 in the afternoon so I didn't make them wear one. ha. The wind has died down here this evening....blue sky, too!

    2. 70! Wow. Well those flirting cardinals are a sign of spring!

Well if he can hiss that is a good sign
Hopefully you'll catch him soon and he'll be a fit as a fiddle feline

Peaches has a vet in his future.

  5. Aw. Sweet little Peaches. He's softening up. As far as the hiss, Oliver, my cat of almost 16 years, hissed me his entire life, even though he was treated like a king. Just be sure to wear some kind of heavy protection on your hands and arms when you "introduce" him to the carrier. Oliver bit and scratched me so many times, I can't help but wonder if that was the origin of the lymphoma I have now. Lynne in NC

    1. He is softening up! I haven't had a hissing cat here before except when Velvet had a new litter, but hers was all show, I think.
That Oliver sounds like he was a frisky little thing! haha. Peaches looks pretty good in that photo...almost too good. I took a closeup of his face just after that and it's almost too gruesome to post...not for the squeamish! All that yucky drainage. But I'm encouraged....he's coming around at a good pace...not long now! Getting him hydrated has made a huge difference in his looks!

  6. I can see that Peaches is getting more comfortable with you, but he isn't going to make it easy for you!

  7. Please be careful about touching Peaches. I would hate for you to get an infection from a scratch or bite. It looks beautiful in your part of the country!

  9. It's not quite as spring-y here yet...but I heard spring peepers for the first time...music to my ears. PS you'll have that kitty kissing you in no time!

  12. Hi there. On the first stop on our way home with our friends near Sacramento. Missing Tristan, but nice to slow down the pace. No stopping with a toddler. Actually have time to get on the computer.

I always love your this and thats, and the boys look so nice in the short sleeves. I see you are making some progress with "weepy eyes". Michel collects Chintz. Hugs.l

  13. I think Velvet has the right idea- just hanging out on the porch...of course I'd have to be swinging just a bit to make it perfect. Hey- I need some sweet tea!! I hope your visiting cat accepts you completely soon. It makes me so sad to see kitties running around with no one to care for them.
    Have a great weekend!

  14. My heart goes out to the kitty. I bet you do get it tamed. They just don't understand how much that they need help. We have a couple that show up for free food that are in such bad shape and warmer weather will help them.

  15. Poor kitty. Reminds me a little of some of those folks at the nursing home who have "hissed" at me. (Not that I'm patting them on the head or anything...)
Love the girl with the red bird on her head. I hope the bird is kind to her and doesn't decide to mess up her hair.
    ha ha!
