I wore this sweater and pin to the auction yesterday.
Both are second hand but new to me,
which is just how I like my stuff....
Thrift store finds that look new but are priced like
they are all worn out.
Fine Italian Merino Wool and porcelain hand painted
lusterware sweetness. Total price for both $6.
Do you thrift shop?
♥
I waltz around Goodwill every so often but I need more practice. I rarely know exactly what I'm looking for. Your sweater is very nice. (I love hand me downs from cousins when I was a kid and I still love a bag of used clothes to paw through.)
ReplyDeleteI do like that Kitty pin. It reminds me of the copper enameling we did as a craft with a woman from church when I was a little girl. We have some around somewhere, probably in Mom's stuff.
I don't know what I'm looking for either....I just browse through it all, keeping an eye out for the nicer things. It's amazing what you can find there.
DeleteI'd love to see the copper enameling if you find it!
Wanda is a good thrift store shopper. She finds great stuff.
DeleteI'll see if I can find one of those old pins. I think there's a little orange whale pin somewhere.

ReplyDeleteI like the adventure of it the most. ha. And the prices are great.

ReplyDeleteWell, that was sweet! :) I think that's what I like about thrifting..all the one of a kind things!
DeleteGetting all thrifty at your sea

Do I thrift shop? Hahaha!

But....I never find anything unique for myself like you do....
Great stuff!
Cheers!
Must go and write in my beautiful journal!
Linda :o)
You most certainly do thrift! And you've shared lots of cute things
Deleteyou bring home! So fun!
I have thrift shopped for many years, mostly household goods at first but the clothes are a fraction of new, and gently worn, a bargain if ever I've seen one.
ReplyDeleteI love your sweater and pin, fits you to a perfection.
~Jo
Household goods are the best there! And I've found a few things to put in my shop.
DeleteGood for you! I think I don't do it often enough because I never find great deals like that!
ReplyDeleteI bet you could find your grands some great deals on clothes....I used to dress my four boys solely from the thrift shop.
DeleteI love a good "bargoon" as I call it. And you certainly got one - lovely combination. I love thrifting although most of the shopping I do now is online. Easier on the joints! But it's the thrill of the hunt I love the most. Even if I had all the money in the world... I would still include thrift stores in my shopping. Have found some amazing deals and really unique pieces over the years.
ReplyDeleteSo fun...and never the same place twice!
DeleteNow, that's my kind of deal!! I love the pin and you know I have a weakness for merino wool. ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteYes, you do! That sweater was so light and comfy....but warm. Loved it!
DeleteIs a lovely pin!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sweet? Made me smile. ;)
DeleteOh YES I thrift shop, such a great way to find something not everyone else has. Love the sweater.
ReplyDeleteAnn
Thanks, Ann...thrift shopping is one of my most favorite things to do!
DeleteGreat finds. We don't really have any thrift stores around here, so I don't have much experience finding a good deal. The cat broach is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHow can that be? haha. Where do you donate things?
DeleteHi Betsy .. I don't thrift shop - mostly because I can't wear most clothes ... but I love the little brooch - so sweet ... and you're so good doing it - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI buy more housewares than clothes, actually!
DeleteI keep hearing people talking about thrift shopping and then reselling.
ReplyDeletebeen there....done that!
DeleteI love shopping at second hand stores. I have started buying all my girls clothes and mine at thrift shops.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what you can find, isn't it?
DeleteVery sweet. I too shop the thrifts for most of my clothing. Sometimes I find some real special items. Looks like you did.
